In August my daughter and I will be joining Evangelist Tim Lee and his daughter, along with some vets, on a trip to Southeast Asia. We will be doing some typical "sight-seeing", taking the vets to some of the major war locations (Saigon, Hue, DaNang).

But wonderful opportunity for preaching/teaching in Saigon, then up the Mekong into Cambodia where we will be assisting in 4 local churches and an orphanage.

Asking for prayer of course (Aug 28-Sept 12) for God to work in hearts, both of the vets and in our outreach in country. And for safety and strength.

So glad to have my daughter (who developed from scratch and runs the children's outreach program in her church) along with me on this trip.

Preaching and teaching adults, even with interpreters, is daunting enough. But working with needy kids is really challenging, and she does this week by week.

Very good! I'll be praying. Glad to see that the gospel is getting into that beautiful country.

Will be praying for you and the group. I've been blessed by Tim Lee's work for 35 years or more. God has used him greatly.

So? My best friend of 38 years is a 5 point Calvinist. And Dr. Bob and I both graduated from the same school (me with the MA, though he's much more educated than I am. :type:)

Isnt it wonderful that Calvinists also do missionary work? It doesn't surprise me in the least that he is educated....I value & respect it.

BTW, I liked him from the day he scolded me for not taking my own theology more seriously & then offered to spend time helping me achieve that end.....eternally grateful actually.:jesus:

Evangelist Tim Lee who is organizing the trip is one of the best 5-point calvinist evangelists I've ever met. Love his report of last Sunday - "12 of God's elect were regenerated by the Spirit of God". No glory to himself, no bean counting. no big pr campaign in the Sword of the Lord. Just glory to God's grace.

The first Baptist missionaries were all 5-point calvinists and many of us (I am a missionary in Wyoming planting and assiting churches) still are. Unashamedly.

May God keep us faithful as His witnesses. Knowing the terror of the Lord, we pursuade men, knowing and depending on God to change the leopard's spots and not our efforts or words.
