To begin with, antibiotics are administered when someone has an infection and antibiotics come in several different strengths and verities.

Therefore if the person is given the wrong strength or the wrong kind of antibiotic, it is ineffective and the persons infection gets worse.
    --------------------------------------------------
Well today, most of the population of the world, has a “Spiritual infection” called “willful sin” and they need a spiritual antibiotic.
This is where preaching comes in.

But not all preaching, is the same.

➀ Strong, solid(Biblical) preaching, hits this infection between the eyes and will soon knock it out.

➁ But, weak, shallow(praise type) preaching, does little to help this problem.
    --------------------------------------------------
Also, small doses of any kind of preaching, won’t get rid of this infection, but will make it stronger.
Just as small doses of actual antibiotics, will cause an infection to become immune to that antibiotic; So also does weak preaching, cause people to become “Gospel hard”.

Most of today’s preaching, simply causes people to become intrenched in their sin.
Just as the Word of God warned us it would........
    2 Timothy 4:2-4
V.2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    V.3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
V.4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Agreed, but it is not popular to say what you said.

    It might offend someone.

I've also been told we shouldn't share the gospel in a way that mentions hell.

Bah! We don't need to scare the ____out of them, but rather to scare them out of hell.

How do you know this? Do you have any evidence that most preaching today causes people to become more entrenched in their sin?

Who is "most of the population"?

Are you speaking about lost people?
Or do you mean Christians who have unconfessed sin?

I might add that when we are born, we are WORSE than spiritually sick, we are spiritually dead. In other words, our condition is worse than sickness.

I can say this so confidently, because (at least in most of the USA), there is a Church on almost every corner & a Gospel radio station within everyone’s reach, yet our country(and the world), continues to be falling into more & more Spiritual darkness.

If even half of today’s preaching was solid Bible preaching, than our world would be different.
    --------------------------------------------------
Also the text at the end of the OP, prophecies that in the last days, most preaching won’t be Biblical.

Before you engage in condemning everyone else have you first humbly considered your own preaching and your own church. While I am concerned about the state of the church in the United States I think the best place to start change is behind my own back door.

    Hi Jkdbuck76

    You asked..........
That is the million dollar question, isn’t it.

But the last time I even hinted(here at the BB), that professing Christians could have unconfessed sin in their life, I was quickly slapped down and accused of preaching easy believism.
I suggest you answer this question for yourself.

Certainly the unsaved have a problem with “willful sin”, therefore the point I was making is obvious.

In others words who are jumping to a hasty generalisation based on your own opinion without any facts to back you up?

I would just as confidently assert that every generation of Christians since the time of the Apostles believed that they were in the last days, and since apostacy has never been limited to the end-times, whatever point the OP has is moot.

Please hang up and try again.

True preaching is in no way like antibiotics. Antibiotics can't hold a candle to Spirit enabled and endued proclamation of the inerrant, inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. This is in short supply. May God raise up a new generation of Wesleys, Whitefields, Luthers, Calvins, Spurgeons, Lloyd-Jonses, and the like.
