    ....need to be saved?

Now, of course, that we don't "know for certain if anyone is saved" aside :)

    Now, back to Lutzer.

He stated today in a message that daily, every single day he needs to confess his own sin, and that sometimes it is many times per day that he has to do so.

Look up his message archives on runningtowin.com since I'm certain someone will have to go and "check it out" because, you know, I'm probably telling a fib!

Now, one on here at least has suggested that this is practicing sin when one sins everyday, and suggests that said persons who sin daily really need to be saved.

Is this true, does Lutzer need to be saved, and does he prove this by what he has stated, as some would dare to say?

Or, is he like you, needing to confess sins daily, sometimes many times per day?

    - Peace

martin as a Monk would go up into the "Confessional Tower" , on his knees up, confess, then while on way down on his kness, remember even more unconfessed sin, and head back up!

Was on a "yoyo" until while reading/studing Galatians, Lord revealed saved by faith and Grace alone truth...

I don't know the context of what was written early. And no one can know whether another person is truly saved. But from watching his ministry and hearing him preach, if Dr. Lutzer ain't saved, he's sure a great fake.

I would imagine that he was talking about daily 1 John 1:9 confession. It's also been my testimony that I need hourly, if not minute by minute (when i'm driving  )confession.

Yes. But now we are discussing this confessing amongst those who have believed and trusted Christ alone, not some lost monk.

LOL!!!! And I doubt you've driven here!!!!!

Bascally, one on here condemns those who sin daily as "practicing sin", and that such then need to be saved.

I disagree with that 100%!!! Rather, those saved are really sensitive of each sin they commit, and it seems the closer we get to Him, the more we realize we sin!!!

The Christian life is a life of continual, progressive repentance. Growing in grace entails becoming more and more aware of our sinfullness and requires a response of repentance.

This in turn creates outward sanctification. So the Christian life is characterized by inward awareness of besetting sin, repentance, and outward practice of holiness/sanctification.

So yes, the Christian is a sinner, but no, the Christian life is not characterized by continual practicing sin.

Maybe it could be better said that the Christian life is not characterized by continual, practicing sin without a real sense of confession and repentance.

Dr. Lutzer, like the rest of us needs his feet washed daily. We are cleansed from sin and it's penalty by the blood of Christ once and for all, but we do sin and need to seek forgiveness (get our feet washed) daily in order to restore our relationship with our Father.

1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

    1Jo 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

Ha! That's funny! I didn't learn it from him though. I learned that many years before I even knew who Lutzer was. :wavey:

    Do you agree with it?

Of course I agree Amy. :flower:

Now, does the fact that he confesses sin daily, and sometimes many times daily prove ones point that he then is practicing sin and needs to be saved?

No. We don't go in and out of salvation. Why does the believer need an advocate if he is losing his salvation every time he sins? We need a Savior for salvation (once) and an advocate who pleads our case before the Father continually 24/7.

Well, what some teach is that those who claim they are sinning everyday, that then said person is really just lost, not that said person needs to be saved again, just saved period.

I know of no one who doesn't sin everyday. I believe we all do in one sense or another.
