    We have a party, cake, sing "Happy Birthday" .... oh wait - you mean the Halloween celebrations?? My soon to be 11 year old son's birthday is on Halloween. :)

    But we usually allow the kids to dress up and visit the neighbors that we know. That's about it. We also provide candy and/or treats for the kids to come to our house. It's a GREAT way to meet the neighbors that you never see all year!

    I don't do Halloween. Since I live alone and have no children, I don't have any "family issues" that sometimes arise over observing it. Also, for many years I worked a 4 pm - midnight shift so I wasn't home at the time most "visitors" would show up.

    This will change for me this year because I've recently retired from AT&T and will most likely be home on that Monday evening. I may do something similar to what annsi alluded to and have something for the children that live in my townhouse development and maybe include a little child's level Gospel tract.

    I don't have a problem with Christian parents wanting their children to do something (constructive, of course) for/with their children so long as it doesn't get too extreme.

    Some churches or organizations do have Halloween "alternatives" which I guess is OK if they want to--again, as long as it doesn't get too extreme.

    A great idea would be to make the "Gospel bracelets" and attach a paper with the meaning of each of the colors. Include in there some sort of candy and you'd be set!

    eHalloween In England was far different,,All Saint's Day. It was a time of mischief though.

    In Canada, it was the same time, but the door shout was different:

    "Shell out, shell out, or, we'll turn your doors inside out."

    In our small village, just the little kiddies come out with their parents just to collect candies..it is free candy night! The older ones do get into mischief and have done some severe damage.

    There is nothing Christian about Halloween. It tends to glorify all kinds of evil with the costumes with children dressing up to look like ghosts, witches, the devil, and all kinds of monsters.

    Many special days are copies of pagan days; ie: Christmas, Easter, Halloween,,,,,and many others. Created to counter-act the pagan festivals.

    I take the Kids out for a block or so and go see friends and Family and usally get something for supper then come home, We dont really do alot of Halloween deco's more like Fall theam like hay bales/corn/pumpkins....Type of thing, I dont really like skulls/bats/rats type stuff...Not a big fan!! When we get home we hand out alittle, we get items from our local Christain store...Like bracelets/prayer cards/Scripture Candy's!! The boy's love handing them out!!
