Wisconsin GOP Holds Off Democrats in Recall Elections

Unions expected a big victory.

The union rape of the public coffers may be over.

 

It's a great day for us conservatives here in Wisconsin! The Dems and their union cohorts literally threw everything including the kitchen sink at the Repub state senators, spending tens of millions of dollars and bringing in hoards of out of state personnel to campaign, and they still failed to achieve their goal. In just a few months Gov Scott Walker and the Repubs took a projected $3.6 billion deficit and in 6 months turned it into a surplus. The only 'attack on working people' (to use the Dems' pet phrase) was forcing pampered state union members to kick in a small amount toward their health care and pensions (still much less than most of us in the private sector pay). The majority of the 'working people' of Wisconsin are actually being well served, by seeing their tax dollars spent far more wisely, so the line can be held on taxes without sacrificing important services. Despite all the disinformation from the Dems, people here are realizing who their real friends in government are, and it's not the tax-and-spend Dems.

 

There has been threats by the Dems/public-sector unions of a recall drive to oust Scott Walker when he becomes eligible next year. After the $30 million (?) they spent on these elections, there is a question if they can raise the money again.

 

A great victory in Wisconsin. Hopefully it will act as a template for other states to break these public unions and restore control to the people!

I hope they raise the money and try to pull off the recall, because they will fail. If so, this would only embolden other state legislatures to kick down the public unions and restore some sanity to state governments!

 

Money is no object...

And, the unions are the principle campaign contributors to the Democrat Party.

And, KUDOS to the PEOPLE of Wisconsin for withstanding the onslaught that the big spenders and outsiders brought into the State! As one who is soon returning to Wisconsin, I am very pleased that Gov. Walker and the Repubican majority that the voters placed into Madison during the last election survived the un-precidented recall elections.

(Oh, and for the record, the Milwaukee Journal is recording that since 1908 there have been a grand total of 20 recall elections for state congress positions. Wisconsin added 9 to that total in one month. That is unprecidented and historical -- and more for the shere audacity of strong labor to attempt to enforce its will on the voters of that state.)

It's amazing the amount of spin coming from the left. Baghdad Bob (remember him?) would be proud.

 

Though I agree with the second part of this statement, I'd rather not see a recall of Walker. If there is, I do think that he would win.

 

Too quick to recall Reps or Dems?

The overriding reason people wanted the Dems recalled was because they failed to fulfill their duty by fleeing the state, essentially not showing up for work.

The reason the reps were up for recall was because of one vote.

One, dereliction of duty. The other, politics.
