200 years ago Baptists were mostly theologically "reformed" until you were converted into Dispensationalism by Darby and the PBs.
In the last 50 years you are reverting back to the Presbyterian theological/political camp by the Reconstructionists. The above is a reasonable analysis of how the Reconstructionists have influenced you all even it you don't realize it.

I think that if we take the word "Baptist" on the whole, and lump in all those who self-identify with that name, Billwald (just this once) is close to being correct. Even a cursory look around this forum would convince even the most hardened skeptic of that fact.

His error, however, is that he does indeed lump all who self-identify as Baptists into one lump. Such is not the case in any stretch of the imagination, which is how EW&F responds.

Indeed, some Baptists have led the charge back into orthodoxy from the slippery slope of liberalism, and if not for these reforming Baptists, it is likely that we would already be in a new age of darkness in the world of the church.

An additional error is in supposing that Baptists lack the biblical scholarship capability and mettle in order to carve their own way in the theological morass that is called Christianity in this age. Baptists have well-accounted for themselves in the greater Evangelical and Christian world.

Why the mud-sling? Don't you know that your hands are being dirty as well?

I'm wishy-washy but I admit it. My faith has evolved.
