I think he would make a great republican candidate. One more who wants to stiff the people and cover up the real cause of the problem we are in.

Almost anything would be an improvement over the neocons like Romney and the pseudocons like Paul.

I really don't feel there is any to choose from that is ready to serve the people and try and get the nation on track while not violating more of our freedoms and rights while holding to Christian values.

I would love to see a debate between Ryan and Obama, especially on the subject of the economy. Ryan would school him.

Or the flip-flopping liberals in disguise, like Perry and Huntsman... or the unelectable crazy persons, like Bachman...

I agree, though I think Ron Paul is by far the best out of any of the possible nominees. He is at least consistently pro-life (just look at his voting record! He doesn't just give it lip-service like Perry and Romney), and consistently small government.

I have no use for Rick Perry, but as far as I know his pro-life stand is unquestioned. I know nothing in this area about Mr Romney. As for Ron Paul he certainly has some good qualities, but he is an isolationist as best that I can tell and many of his beliefs in this report http://www.ontheissues.org/ron_paul.htm for me makes him out of the question.

Paul is not an isolationist. He just doesn't think we should be spending a trillion dollars a year on overseas police actions; something YOU yourself admitted cannot be sustained. I would love to hear something that you don't like about Paul..

Perry is a flip flopper, and his pro-life stance IS questioned. He thinks abortion should be allowed for multiple reasons, which is unconscionable. A baby deserves the same protection as any other human.

He also supported and PUSHED the Trans Texas corridor (that would have stolen thousands of people's private land through imminent domain, and would have made many of the highways in Texas, including the one to get to my house, a toll road. This contract was won by a Mexican company, FYI, so, no jobs either). He also gives lip service to Creationism and school vouchers, while opposing them with his actions.

Whether it is said that he supports Nonintervention or an isolation view the result is the same because of how he intends on carrying out his agenda. While I certainly support the idea of bringing home our troops I also know it is impossible in the current world climate.

    Here is what Paul stands for and I do also;

Reduce the size of the Federal government.
    Restore American constitutional values.
    Protect personal liberty.
Create real value in the American economic system.
Make the Federal government work for the people not the corporations.
Create responsibility and accountability in government

However the problem is how he wants to accomplish it and what he means by what he says. His idea of non aggression is to be an isolationist. He has clearly stated he would not support Israel except with words.

    He supports marriage between homosexuals.
In a 2007 interview with John Stossel, Paul stated that he supported the right of gay couples to marry, so long as they didn't "impose" their relationship on anyone else, on the grounds of supporting voluntary associations.
In 2005, Paul voted against restricting interstate transport of minors to get abortions.[
Paul supports stem-cell research generically, as evidenced by his authoring the Cures Can Be Found Act of 2007 (H.R. 457; H.R. 3444 in 2005), a bill "to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide credits against income tax for qualified stem cell research, the storage of qualified stem cells, and the donation of umbilical cord blood." However, Paul believes the debate over the embryonic category of stem-cell research is another divisive issue over which the federal government has no jurisdiction:
Paul stated in August 2007 that at the state level "capital punishment is a deserving penalty for those who commit crime," but he does not believe that the federal government should use it as a penalty

Paul favors the right to use marijuana as a medical option. He was cosponsor of H.R. 2592, the States' Rights to Medical Marijuana Act.[245] He is currently a supporter of the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008
Paul contends that prohibition of drugs is ineffective and advocates ending the War on Drugs.[249][250][251] "Prohibition doesn’t work. Prohibition causes crime." He believes that drug abuse should be treated as a medical problem,

These are just a few. My opposition to Ron Paul is not usually about his basic beliefs, but how he intends to carry them out.
