Mrs Salty put down Kreeme'es food dish. She only nibbled a bit, then jumped up on the bed. A couple moments later Tommi starting eating it. Well I took it away (Tommi is not supposed to eat Kreemees food) and held it up to Kremee and she started to eat it. I then sat it down next to her - so she stopped eating it. I picked it back up and was holding her dish - and she started to eat again...

No, I don't plan on doing that all the time.

Answer - you're dealing with a cat. They're not "right." Get used to it.

    Or...

Ask Padre what to do about it!

    She probably doesn't like it.

Cats are finicky. If its a special food that she and she alone needs to eat, I would put her and the dish in a bathroom two or three times a day for 30 minutes or so and then take the food up in between (to keep the other cat from eating it).

I'd feed the other cat somewhere else at the same time on the same schedule. Its a pain for the first few days, but the benefit is that you know what each cat is eating.

Why? You are her royal subject you know.

You must be new to cat ownership.

What kitty wants kitty gets. Everybody knows that!

Salty, I hate to break the news to you, but it would be easier to figure out women than to figure out cats! In others words, it's just beyond the scope of the male brain!

Burlap sack and a deep creek. Ooops, sorry. Just thinking out loud.

Throw the stupid cat outside. After a week of eating mice and chipmunks it will be very happy to eat anything out of a bowl.

Kreemee is a cat. You are her owner, which means she is in charge - if she wants you to hold her bowl, you hold her bowl

When we had cats we only fed them in the morning. They had been out all night and we fed them on the basis that if they hadn't caught anything the previous night they would be hungry.

so what is the point of the story. you servile human you....slavishly devoted service is what a cat expects. They have a racial memory from when they were gods ( Egypt) and they have never ever forgotten that.

I find withholding food for 24 hours works wonders!!!!

Cats. They are so arrogant!

My cat, Chelsea, used to do the same thing about wanting to go outside. She would meow at the door, and when you open it she would just sit there and stare at you like you are stupid. Used to make my hubby REALLY mad! LOL

I've got one that does that about coming in. Needless to say, she spends a lot of time outside.

I am considering turning the front yard currently a memorial to the weed and making a zen style garden, there is a little worm of niggling doubt....will my cat see it as the paramount cat loo? Any thoughts?

She is just eating a few bites out of courtesy. Doesn't want it but appreciates that you went to the effort.
