Great goodness gracious NO! Let's spend the money getting some Bible translations for the thousands of languages/dialects that don't have them yet.

 

Amen, amen, and amen again! If there are already twenty English translations better than the KJV it's way past time to do some real translation work.

Perhaps I am alone in wanting to see a new accurate translation of the Bible based on the M.T. or T.R. and produced by a Christian organization.

I quite like the NKJV and use it most of the time, but there are certainly improvements that could be made. My main objection to it, however, is that it is owned by Nelson, which is a secular organization and only slightly better than Zondervan.

There would be no better organization to undertake the work than the Trinitarian Bible Society, but the chances of it happening under TBS's present directorship are unfortunately Zero.

My own belief is that if the KJV had been carefully and sensitively revised every 50 or 60 years, like the Spanish Reina Valera, there would have been no need for the current plethora of Bible versions, many of which are IMO ghastly and most unlikely to improve the understanding of those whom read them.

There is already an anti-Reina-Valera group that is connected to the KJVO crowd and they have their own new version- and then there's those who use the RV1909 because the RV1960 is 'liberal', so I'm not sure that even a revision of the KJV every 50 years or so would work.

Once someone gets in in their mind that there must be a perfect translation in their language then all bets are off.
