Ummm - The manager said that the man could have asked for a chair and be accommodated.

I do believe it's time for someone to stop visiting White Castle and maybe instead try the local farmer's market?

People can be so stupid. A man eats himself into a blimp, and then he expects the restaurant to install larger booths to accommodate him. That's like blaming the restaurant because one doesn't know when to stop eating.

Anyone else get the feeling that the backstory on this has something to do with blackmail and free sliders?

    Come On Folks....

....The poor man was taken at gun point to his local White Castle Burgers and forced to by bags of sliders to satisfy his hunger.

This is one more great example of "Frivolous" law suits. I hope it gets tossed out.

    Good catch and post, FAL!

Hopefully New York has "Frivolous Law Suit laws" and he and his attorney has to pay for the costs White Castle will incur in all this. There is one big problem however when dealing with contract law. If he can prove that White castle did in fact agree to change the seating he may have a case. I really cannot understand why they would have made the promise that he claims.

Of ALL the Things I Miss About Living In Detriot, it is....

....White Castle Burgers, however, on the west coast, we have In-N-Out Burgers, and they are by far the best burger around!

The best hamburgers are always found at an individually owned establishment, not a chain.

Though this is another example of a pointless lawsuit, let's try to be a bit compassionate to people who are obese.

It is a hard problem to deal with in life. I can't imagine what it's like. We know several people who are afflicted by this and it's not because they sit there and eat all the time. It's not because they live unhealthy, slovenly lives. It's a legitimate disease that hurts them and stays with them in life.

Though I don't make excuses for people who can live better, more controlled lives, just because someone is obese isn't because he/she sat in a White Castle every day for ten years. Our conversation is better than that kind of accusation.

    In-N-Out: A Christian/Family Owned Business

It is so neat to know that on the inside bottom of every beverage container, you buy fro INO has a Scripture imprinted. The company also prints a verse on their weekly payroll checks.

This business was started by Harry and Ester Synder, and it still remains a family business that gives full credit to the Father for their success.

My brother was a very good friend of the Snyder son (Richie) up until his tragic death outside of John Wayne Airport in Orange County. His plane crashed upon approach to the runway. Their other son, Guy, also died a tragic death, related to prescription-drug overdose.

Even with this said, the family is a community oriented, giving generously to local Christian charities, and abused children programs.

They are large, having many stores throughout the western states, but they remain family-owned and operated, not allowing franchising, and they are not ashamed of Jesus.

If you are ever near an In-N-Out in Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and California, drive through and order a Double-double (if you're really hungry, order the Animal), fries and thick rich milk shake (real ice cream). You will not be sorry, as their product is consistently the same, simple, and everything is always fresh.

Check out their web site. They are a little bit of what America is still about.

    Shalom,

I understand what you are saying. Several years ago my family and I were at an amusement park and encountered a very similar situation. An obese man was being helped on one of the rides while hundreds of people stood by and waited. After a minute or two, the determined that this man was unable to board this ride. He had to walk away from the ride in front of all these people. I have never felt as sorry for a person as I did this poor man.

Robert, at least this guy didn't try to sue the Amusement Park. This guy brings derision on his own head by bringing this law suit. I say "shame on him" and "double shame on his piece of work trial lawyer." This country would be much better off is most trial lawyer would disappear.

Actually, we should be free to bring a law suit at anytime. But, if you lose, you pay the costs of one you were suing. That would eliminate of these types of hyped up lawsuits.

Such lawsuits are too often rewarded with huge amounts of money. One good example was a man who broke into a warehouse through the skylight. He fell and was injured and sued the owner of the warehouse, and he was awarded $250,000 for his injuries he got while breaking into the warehouse.

No he didn't sue, nor should he have. It would be frivolous for someone to sue for this reason.

I've heard of stuff like that, and you have to wonder what kind of judge and jury those cases have.

    Hey Brother Curtis....

.....I drove by a new burger stand last night, and noticed it was a 5Guys Burger joint. If I hadn't just had dinner at Olive Garden, I may have geave them a try. Their outside air vents filled the air with an inviting aroma of burgers ready to eat.

I'll give them a try soon!

5Guys is excellent in my opinion. My wife and I share the fries. They are good and they give you a ton of them. The burgers are a cut above most other chain places.
