I think most do but it is not necessary to sin every day any more then it is necessary to sin every second, every minute or every hour. All sin is a choice and to sin every day says a lot about our walk and love for the Lord or lack of it. We have become lazy and love grace more then godly living.

It applies ot me also, but neither do I sin every day. There is no reason to ever sin. Sadly I choose to do so from time to time which shows a lack of proper love for the Lord.

Is God more or less forgiving than man?

What does He require of us?

    Matthew 18
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Again, is God more or less loving or forgiving than man?

More or less patient with us than we are with each other.

    More longsuffering, etc, etc...

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

    Advocate = Lawyer.

He has never lost a case (for me anyway) against our accuser.

This is not a license to sin but a pardon from our sin.

All who come are forgiven all.

    Matthew 11
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Perhaps we should focus on holiness rather than our sin.

1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

No. It shows you still live in sinful flesh. No man ever lived that love the Lord more than Paul and yet he admittedly sinned. But not because he didn't love the Lord enough, but because he was still living in the body of flesh.

Romans 7:23-25 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Since you say don't sin every day, can you sometimes go a whole week without sinning?

No it shows we do not have the proper love. All Christians love the Lord or they are not Christians according to scripture, but some have the kind that Peter had instead of the kind the Lord desires. The frequency of sin in a person sheds light on the depth of their love and if they are not keeping the commandments they have no love according to the Lord and are not His.

I have no need to "practice" sin...unfortunately I'm quite good at it :tear:

That being said I do sin every day and anyone claiming not to has been in a coma or is a liar. Praise God for the atonement!

Yes, and then a month, and then a year, and then why not a lifetime?
That is what Charles Finney believed--the possibility of having a community of believers that had attained sinless perfection because he denied the sinful nature of man. The truth is that we do sin, and we sin every day. Thus that admonition to "confess our sins, and he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
But if we deny that we sin, John goes on to say:
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:10)

The answer is yes I can. In fact theoretically go without sinning at all as all sin is a choice, but neither has ever happened with me. Three or 4 days is about the longest and I start over so I am working on it.

I can't say I know anything about Charles Finney, but if he believed in sinless perfection he was wrong for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
    But if he believed this then he was correct;
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

    Every man is a liar.

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. (Romans 3:4)

Yes it is true that every man is a liar and I know you understand that. However not every man lies every minute or every day, just some.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
