Have you, as a believer, ever been somewhere or in a certain situation, and you sensed that another person was also a believer, and then you found out this person or persons was/were in fact a believer(s), just as you sensed?

    Why does this happen?

I got to thinking about this, as I've had this happen in my life. I've looked for some Scriptural proof for this, but I am at a loss right now for a specific incident. Perhaps Matthew 5, and letting ones light shine is a factor. But sometimes it is picked up on without anything really happening other than this sensing concerning the other person.

However, I do believe that this is because the person has the same Spirit, and thus we are drawn toward one another, being of the same Spirit and Kingdom.

    Now...

I recently heard Erwin Lutzer teaching about "demons." I cannot remember when, or what the title was, but simply he was teaching that when persons get involved in sins, and I want to stick to the sin of Sodomy specifically for a reason, that they've in fact introduced themselves to demonic avenues and opened up the door to this influence.

    So...

What is with this "gaydar" that the h*m*sexuals have? They say they can "tell" and I've heard this many times. What is this? A kindred evil spirit, that Satan uses, one that they are both familiar and influenced with, an evil spirit, and thus they pick up on it and on one anothers practice?

    What do you think?

I think you are right on the money there. As Christians, almost everyone has a testimony where they say something to the effect, "I really felt God in the room that day", or the opposite, "When I stepped in there, I could just feel the evil."

What drives me nuts is that even though almost every Christian believes that these events can occur, they only accept them as "once in a great while" events. Why do we think that we should only be able to feel God close to us every once in a while? Is His presence diminished the rest of the time? And on the other side, if I were to walk into an average Christian house and say something like, "There's a demon/evil spirit in here". I'd get looked at as if I were crazy. Do we think that Satan's forces have diminished and that they have no presence either?

It's almost as if we want to believe in God and God's power and Satan's power only at church and at church functions. The rest of the time we want to live as atheists, and try to ignore the presence and interference of both sides in our lives.

    Right on Sapper....

As long as the devil can make (deceive) believers think that his presence and work on this earth are a "once-in-a-while" thing, he will win the war.

I happen to agree with the post. If we can sense the presence of God in another person, why can we not in turn sense the presence of evil???

I was trying to say this in my post about San Francisco. It is not impossible for believers to sense the presence of evil in others, or in places like homes, buildings, streets, etc., thus, the believer can be seduced by the presence of seducing spirits and the presence of evil. This is why we need to not only be aware of the discernment He gives us (especially to the presence of evil) we need to be able to discern the presence of seducing spirits, and like Joseph, when he was tempted by the seductive wife of his employer, flee its presence.

I do not believe that any of us is immune to any particular sin. This is why Billy Graham never allowed himself to be in the presence of women in his hotel rooms. He always had his trusted male employees check out and assure that the room was clear of anything that could put him in a compromising position. And it was my understanding that he had employees posted outside of his room to protect his reputation and testimony.

You had a great response, and I applaud your insight! It is sad that way too many believers lack the depth of insight and dsicernment you talk about in your comments.

I also think preacher4truth is on to something that others need to be more aware of as they go about their daily walk.

As an addendum to my ealier post, I would like to add that while I am here in Afghanistan, and also while I was in Iraq, I can feel a definite presence of evil here. Maybe I feel it more over here than in America simply because I am more comfortable in America, and not on heightened alert, but that's another topic of discussion. My point is, I can definitely feel it here.

I have talked to other believers in the military, and they have had a similar experience. I have even had non-believers tell me things like, "This is an evil place", or "I feel like something is out there to get us." Interperet it how you will, but imho it's solid evidence of spiritual activity.

God bless you brother while you're over seas, and the rest of the other believers there with you and all our troops.

Thanks for responding to this thread, it is appreciated. I often wondered why "they" could sense this about their own. I believe it goes back to some spirit, perhaps a familiar spirit to both of them. How sinister to even think of it that way.

I will throw this in here; I think it is unfortunate that the theologies of some have caused them to be hoodwinked into believing that satan is bound now in hell. What fallacy and error. This is what I believe he would want them to think. To the contrary he is still active now.

Anyhow, years ago, when I was first saved, we were doing some construction work on existing apartment units. We had to go in each unit and take care of our work. Entering one of the units, I got this strong sense of evil, and I even said "whoa!" and one of the guys says "what?" and I looked around and there were many occult books on shelves, and an portrait on the wall in a room that was quite evil. I told him "that's what."

    - Peace

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Some would want us to believe this no longer true. That is fabricated nonsense stemming from the new (neo) gnostics of our day.

If this were true, which it is not, then no preacher needs to tell other believers to wear the armor any longer, there is no need. Just what satan would want them to believe. How fooled these folks are. Sincere, intellectual, logical, fooled.

Think that we believers can 'sense" the presense of the HS dwelling within another Christian at times. and also feel that those under bondage to their sin natures and in the "darkness' can have demonic activity unawares!

    Interesting discussion!
Question, since sinners without the presense of the HS are already under the dominion of satan, in his Kingdom, what is to stop them from being influenced. evn possessed!

I agree with all the posts. You can feel the presence of evil through the discernment of the Holy Spirit. I have even been accused of being judgmental because I said I sensed evil in a person.

Paul Sums it Up Best in Romans 1...

The believers that think their intellectual wisdom and skills are what keeps them from evil, sin, etc., had better read what Paul wrote to the Church in Rome.

I address this demonic lie to believers in my newest book, Final Daze. The truth is there are many believers who fall into the catagorey of being to "smart for their own" holy britches....

    Romans 1:18-32

"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." NIV

If we don't have a presence and seduction of evil in this world (as Paul clearly discusses in Eph. 6:10-18) than like p4t says in his post, there is clearly NO need for us to put on the "full armor" of God DAILY! :type:

I Salute you Brother, and Pray for You Too!

I salute all our men and women in the service of our nation. You are doing a job that many would not want to even consider doing.

I agree that you are in a place where evil reigns supreme. The countries you are in are under the control of a religion that is a spawn of Satan. I'm not saying that Muslims are eveil, not are the people in general evil. But, they happened to be born in a place that is under the full control of evil. the kind of evil Paul discusses clearly in Eph. 6:10-18.

Most believers would not understand what you are talking about, because they have never been to a place that is under the complete cloud of demonic control.

I understand what you and those you mention are talking about, because I believe the Word, and the Word says these kind of realms exist.

You can believe that those of us who understand the dangers you face both physically and spiritually, are undergirding you and your fellow brothers and sisters in arms in our prayers. :praying:

Just before we were married, my wife and I were looking for a home. A realtor showed us this secluded home by a lake. It was beautiful, but kinda creepy. When we went inside, it freaked me out, I don't know why, but I felt very uncomfortable there, and wanted to get out quick. I think the realtor realized this, as we only looked for a few minutes. We got in the car and got out of there quick. I told my wife how the home bothered me, and she also did not like the house.

About two years later there was a famous murder case in Ct. A family had moved into this home and soon after their young son became possessed. I am not making this up. They called in Catholic priests to exorcize the boy. This boy had an older sister with a boyfriend. This older boy grabbed the possessed boy and told the spirit to enter him. From that point on, the older boy started acting strangely, and then killed a friend. At his trial they argued he was possessed and brought in the priests that had tried to exorcize the boy. It was in the news several weeks. One day on the TV they showed the home, and it was the home my wife and I had looked at two years earlier.

I am not making this up, Google "Demon Murder Trial". This home was in Brookfield Ct.

Well the scripture that states we are to try the spirits, to see if they be of God comes to mind. There are many spirits, but only ONE Spirit. It all comes down to asking God to give us a discerning heart, and asking Him to help us to seek those out who are of the same Spirit. I have talked with people, and all of a sudden, we'd start talking about scripture. We'd just about have church right there. So yes, we can sense when a fellow CHRISTian is around.

Winman, I searched as you suggested. A tragic but interesting set of circumstances. The guy only served five of a 10 to 20 year sentence. I wonder why so little time?

Back in 1974 I was working with a guy in the Insurance Business who was an alcoholic. He was a big guy and while under the influence he became quite strong and aggressive but I didn't know this. He was well known by the local PD.

I had witnessed to him and we often talked of the Lord and Salvation as we worked together and one afternoon while in his basement..., he attacked me! I thought he was playing around so I just played along and laughed it off.

Two days later as we were out trying to drum up some business this guy says, "I don't understand. I have never hit a man as hard as I hit you the other day and nothing happened." I was shocked.
(He became irate with me as he thought he had a bottle of whiskey hidden in his basement, was in need of a fix, couldn't find the bottle and came to the conclusion that I had taken it.)

I remember him hitting me in the back of the neck like in a "rabbit punch" but I didn't feel anything which is why I thought this guy was just playing around to begin with.

In the aftermath, am came to the conclusion this guy fell victim to demon influence when it came to his whiskey which accounted for his brutal strength.

Course, the Lord was on my side and protected me that fateful day saving me from serious injury. It wasn't long after that I left the business; his wife left him; and the rest is history. Demons are very real. A good hard look at Charles Manson is but evidence of demon possession.

Oh yeah. When I was young I was extremely skeptical of stories like this, but from several very strange experiences in my life I am no longer a skeptic. That doesn't mean I believe everything I hear, but I am now open to the possibility that stories like this might be real and true.

As soon as we walked in that house I hated it and whispered to my wife that there was NO WAY we were going to live there and told her I wanted to get out of the house.

When the story broke, we didn't know it was the same house, though we lived in Brookfield for awhile and we knew where the dog kennel in the story was. We were living in Waterbury when this happened and didn't know it was the same house until they showed it on the news. We immediately recognized the house, as it was down a long dirt road through the woods that opened into a large field. The house sat all by itself and was next to a little pond or lake. It was an old fashioned house which is common in New England. When I first saw it it bothered me, but when we went inside I almost had a panic attack and wanted out. I just didn't like that house.

Yeah. Been there in a way.

By the way, do you think according to the OP that the h*m*s*xual crowd when they say they have "gaydar" and can sense another one of them are only really sensing a same, evil familiar spirit that has attatched itself to their crowd? In the same manner we seem to also sense evil, adn can havve a sense about another being a believer?

I think this is the case.

So, do you think "they" also sense one another, and it is spiritual, only on the dark side, and this is why they sense one another, same as us, only in the opposite realm?

I know they would never agree that it is a dark spirit (though I bet some in this bondage would) but it most certainly is a dark and evil spirit.

I know some think I am crazy, but I am a very down to earth fellow, boring actually. But after strange experiences in my life I don't rule out anything anymore. Perhaps there is some type of "Gaydar", I don't know, and I don't want to know, I have seen enough of the dark side already.

The spiritual world is real, even in the 21st century.

The strongest place I could say I sensed evil was at the Dachau, Germany concentration camp. It was like the demons were still celebrating all around that place for what took place there.

The next strongest place where I sensed evil was at the Gospel Mission downtown St. Paul, MN, where I was singing to 200 homeless, many or most of whom were under long term spiritual attack, conflict, and blindness. Singing Gospel songs was spiritual warfare in that room.

Another place was in communist countries in the 1980s, permeated in atheism.

Come on Brother, how can they not recognize one another??? A gay guy can spot another gay guy a mile away. Shoot, even Stevie Wonder could spot them out. They are the ones wearing the LOUD clothes, platform shoes, and going sash-shay shan-tae(Rupaul comes to mind***Shudder***) as they walk.

The gay gals can spot each other. The ones who walk like a guy, act like a guy, have short hair like a guy, dress like a guy......it's really not rocketscience to figure this out...LOL

I really don't think they have "gaydar". The way they live is a "neon sign", that says, "hi, I am gay".

Now, I know that there are gays who look and act normal-Rock Hudson-but most are pretty obvious. Or this is my conclusion.
