How exactly would a 15 cent fee per tree (over 500) on the suppliers of Christmas trees requested by the American Christmas Tree Growers have destroyed Christmas?

You will have to ask that paper? However it is just another tax and bigger government we do not need.

It was to be a self imposed fee to promote real trees over fake trees. The people being charged wanted it.

To say that President Obama was trying to destroy Christmas is sensationalism at best.

    The 15 cents doesn't matter. It's petty.

But hey, let's be fair, how 'bout a tax on Minorah candles for the Hanukkah Candelabra?

Or 5 cents tax every time you spin the dreidel?
10 cents if you sing the dreidel song.

You might want to contact the reporter on that. Well DUH yes they wanted it because it does not cost them anything, and it puts money in their pockets. It costs those who buy the trees and then the sellers get the money back in the long run.

It was not for the consumers. It was for the suppliers.

Either way, saying it was Obama's plan to destoy Christmas is simply ludicrous and another silly attempt to slam this President on the silly stuff.

Roger, does it cost anything to kiss the Blarney Stone?

    Seriously, I'm curious.

You know, sometimes silly stuff is OK. He does have a good sense of humor.

President Obama claims Irish roots (well one root anyway) on his mother's side - Yes I saw it on the news when he went to Ireland.

But did he kiss the Blarney Stone?

So once again Obama caves to the Republicans. Over a fifteen cent fee.

Let's see if it works when it comes to cutting a $3.8 Trillion budget. Ha!

Like I said you need to contact reporter. Also I said the money was for the suppliers, that is why they are for it and others expense.

The Blarney Stone itself is part of a tour of Blarney Castle. There is an admission
fee for the tour. The president did not go there.

I realised the blog post must be satire. The growers asked for this fee that they were to pay. It was not the president's plan. Saying it was his plan to destroy Christmas was a comment on how silly
    the over reaction was.

    Thanks,

At first I thought it might have even been the president's idea of a humor.

I have heard some chitter-chatter, that this tax was started by Bush.

Does anyone have any facts on this?

    Don't you know?

If it is unpopular then it's Bush's fault.

Dems want to blame Bush for Solyndra too.
