I will not buy anything with "drink" in the name. 100% juice only and the kids can have one cup of juice a day. Add in two cups of milk and the rest is water or unsweetened tea. That's it. Once in a blue moon (once or twice a month if that) they can split a coke but that's it. My college daughters are on their own with this but they know the guidelines as well and tend to go for water or unsweetened tea as well.

Okay, ...if we must be semantically correct...the amount of sugar in soda and "fruit drinks" does “bad” things to the body and don't be fooled by thinking "fruit drinks" are a better choice, check the ingredients. How bout dat?

Oh...well then let's put an end to sugar manufacturing. Or we can just consume sugar moderately. yea that sounds much better.

The key is to make sure people make INFORMED choices.

When I was at church running the kitchen for VBS, I walked out to see a man who had told me before that he was cutting back on sugar because of pre-diabetes. However, he put a good 1/4 cup of creamer in his coffee cup! I showed him the sugar content and told him that it was about a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar in each tablespoon of creamer and he was shocked. He dumped that cup and instead went for a cup of coffee with milk. He just had no idea.
