we posted our labeled theological beliefs in 3 or 4 major areas where we mostly disagree?

For instance, we could all posts a "resume" in our siggie to help from confusion. I often forget what someone's position is. It could look like this:

Hermeneutic: messianic/christocentric & missional based on Luke 24:44-48
Bibliology: ISV or ESV preferred, full-inerrantist, ipsissima vox, Sturzian style textual critic position
    Soteriology: 5 point Calvinist, supralapsarian
Ecclesiology: reformed SBC, plurality of elders, elder led
    Eschatology: new covenant Amillennial partial-preterist

Thoughts or suggestions? Are there other categories we could add or remove? I feel like I should mention something else (like hamartiology and imputed original sin proponent or christology and a full impecability proponent; needs better names though).

PS--I know some people are opposed to labels and I recognize that no label can completely describe our views. But this can help to give each other a general idea of your background and theological conviction.

This NOT meant to sound 'funny", but do you think all us posting currently on the BB would be able to list it out as "detailed" as you just did?

Would we all even know what your terminology was actually in reference to?

Other then that minor point, think that your concept is worthwhile!

I suppose it would be alright, but I would have to take a special class to figure out all those words. Then I would have wasted my money because they probably do not apply to me.

Come on guys... those are not that difficult. My textual position is not one easily defined so I came up w/ a term after a man who practices and wrote a book on a similar process. Ipsissima vox is a cool concept but really doesn't have to be listed, I just find it to be an interesting subject as I study the synoptics. Other than that, I can't see words that most on here don't know b/c we are debating them most of the time.

The only way this would work if we get enough people to do it and start a trend. If enough of us agree, then we can start. But do we need to add or take any away? I'd like to hear a moderator's input as well. We could follow their example ;)

Well OK as long as I get my money back. If you start it I will try, but it will take some research for certain terms. I may have to come up with some new ones for me.

The problem with that (in my view) is that terms used in one (English-speaking) country may not be the same as those used in another. For instance, what is "missional" hermeneutic? "Missional" is not in either of my English (i.e British English) dictionaries. It sounds as if it ought to mean "missionary-minded", but is that hermeneutics? Similarly, I looked up "ipsissima vox" on www.ggoogle.co.uk, and if I restricted the search to UK pages, I got just 214 hits, and many of those seem to be connected with something called an "Accelera Deck":
'Ipsissima Vox'... translated "the very voice" is the first Accelera Deck full-length in over two years. The music is a sonic tapestry woven into flickering, contorted bursts of static and waves of caustic feedback. Within 15 songs, and over the course of 52 minutes Adeck mines the depths of beautiful noise that his previous albums have only hinted at.
So I don't think it would be particularly helpful.

"Missional" is actually becoming a popular term (more popular in the UK). I just finished a book by Christopher Wright called Mission of God which I highly recommend. It is a good presentation of a biblical theology of missions but even more a missional reading of the Bible. God who is on mission to redeem the world and bless the nations is a constant theme in which we should recognize in the text and the grand drama of Scripture.

Ipsissima Vox was translated correctly and has to do w/ the exact voice of Jesus versus ipsissima verba or the exact words of Jesus. This is my view over one of the synoptic issues.

I thought about adding to bibliology "Fourfold Gospel Hypothesis" but I went over the 500 character limit and didn't want to take DAB's quote down just yet.
