Here is a perplexing question for some. Where did the different races come from? Depending on what study one uses there is between 3 to 5 different races on earth. One man, one woman according to scripture in the original creation account and today we have 3 to 5 different races. How did this come about?

Actually the entire human population on the Earth came from the seed of Shem, Ham, and Japeth.

Race (really skin pigmentation) is derived from Adam & Eve

As the human race was dispersed at Babel to the 4 corners of the Earth came skin adaptation to climate barriers----lighter skin folks found in the Scandinavian areas nearer North and South Poles-----darker skinned folks found around Earth's equator

I would say there is only one race: Human.

We unfortunatly tend to see skin color as the most difining characterisitic. Some experts have there is more diversity within any one skin color group than there is between the different groups.

Think that originally we all were same 'color" and spoke "same tongue", but after Tower of babal, God dispersed us all over the earth, and we developed new languages and new skin pigments due to the conditions we landed on!

Exactly! There is only one race, the human race. That race has different color pigments and physical traits, that's all.

As said before, Shem, Ham, and Japeth were the fathers of the people living now. Back in their time period, families intermarried, which would mean certain dominant traits would eventually be evident depending on the genetics.

For example, I have chickens. If you continue to breed a certain type of chicken, using the same gentic lines, eventually most of the chicks are going to look alike. The dominant genes will take over and the recessive ones will become almost non-existent over time. The more variation in the breeding brings more variation in the chicks. In genetics, we use "selective breeding" to get certain desired characteristics. This is how we produce dual-purpose chickens, meat birds, or high-profile egg layers.

If Shem, Ham, and Japeth moved far away from each other's families over time and intermarried in the same genetic pool, their offspring would have similar characteristics. That's why the recessive traits (blond hair, blue eyes) are characteristic of one line, while the dominant traits (dark skin, dark hair, brown eyes) are in another.

Why is it not still changing today as whites move into the area of blacks, and blacks into the area of whites and what climate changed the shape of the eyes?

Change would have been gradually over time, based upon climate grew up in, heritary genes passed along, so we have the finished product, seperate strands of 1 race, Human race!

So again why are they not still changing today if climate is a factor? Give me some idea of the following, just a guess. How many generations of white couples who lay out in the hot sun every day of their lives does it take to start having black babies? And how many generations of black couples who stay out of the sun does it take for them to start having white babies? And what kind if climate does it take to cause slanted eyes?
And finally what was the color of the first couple?

Let's qualify the origination of the term race. Do we find God's word saying and God created the races? We see God's word using "race" as running in a race. So that means for the peoples groups man created the term race. Genesis 11:6 God said the people, not the races are one having one language. God confounded the language and scattered the people abroad over all the earth. It doesn't say and they became their own race, they are all people, human beings scatterd abroad.

    Notice WIKI definition:

Race is classification of humans into large and distinct populations or groups by factors such as heritable phenotypic characteristics or geographic ancestry, but also often influenced by and correlated with traits such as appearance, culture, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. In the early twentieth century the term was often used, in its biological sense, to denote genetically divergent human populations which can be marked by common phenotypic traits.[1] When analyzing skeletal remains, this sense of "race" is still used at times within forensic anthropology, biomedical research, and race-based medicine as proxy for geographic ancestry with some reliability.

Now if you look genetically the caucasion light skinned and the dark skinned people have .2% difference in genetic makeup. That shows that theri really is a minute difference in them. The race issue has come about due to evolution and was never taught or seen in the bible. All were called people or inhabitants but never races. So there are truly no different races in this world just people of different cultures and geographic ancestry.

We can do it like that if you prefer. How do we have white people, black people, people with slanted eyes, people with round eyes and so on if there was only one couple at creation?

    The descendants of HAM:
    Gen. 10
6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
15 And Canaan begat Sidon his first born, and Heth,
16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

These are the families of Ham who had their own language, countries and nations.
These are the people of Africa and some the cannaites in the area of Israel. The Caanites were the people God ordered the Israelites to utterly destroy. God genetically formed them through Ham to settle in those lands. Notice in Gen. 10 from each son of Noah came family groups with their own language, countries and nations. God formed them to be genetically able to survive in the area in which they migrated.
    Here is what God did:

"The melanin in the skin is produced by melanocytes, which are found in the basal layer of the epidermis. Although, in general, human beings possess a similar concentration of melanocytes in their skin, the melanocytes in some individuals and ethnic groups more frequently or less frequently express the melanin-producing genes, thereby conferring a greater or lesser concentration of skin melanin."
"There are typically between 1000 and 2000 melanocytes per square millimeter of skin. Melanocytes comprise from 5% to 10% of the cells in the basal layer of epidermis. Although their size can vary, melanocytes are typically 7 micrometres in length."

The difference in skin color between lightly and darkly pigmented individuals is due not to the number (quantity) of melanocytes in their skin but to the melanocytes' level of activity (quantity and relative amounts of eumelanin and pheomelanin). This process is under hormonal control, including the MSH and ACTH peptides that are produced from the precursor proopiomelanocortin."

So it is how God developed the adaptability in the genetic make up not changing over the years.
Jeremiah 13:23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
No the Ethiopian can't change his skin because they are genetically created by God to be dark skinned. Just as the Shemites of middle, far east and american indians have their pigminataion. The descendants of Japheth have their pigmigtation because God made all of us genetically that way.

All of the different tribes of the Human race were in Adam dna gene pool...

So depending on where his descendants found themselves relcated to by God after the dispersal, their skin "colors" would be climate wise /environment being caused to occur, and passed down to their descendants after that !

Again, God had placed within the DNA/genes of Adam the potential for all of the different tribes of Humanity to come in the future, and when humans dispersed over globe. climate caused the potential different tribes to come to actuallity!

I am not disagreeing with your first part about genetics. I am however trying to clarify your second part about climate. If climate is involved and sets off the genetic change then why aren't people changing back when they move to different climates or are you saying they do?

IF there was along enough period of time involed, the humans would be "evolving" within the Race to adapt, and thus would indeed take on more suitable characteristics!

I don't believe it is the climate changes that occur now or then.
The people, language, countries and nations came after the flood, since it came after the near perfect climate of the pre-flood period and that climate had been destroyed. God scattering the people at the tower of Babel caused the genetic makeup to adapt those peoples. This became through many generation as the genetic make up of the people groups occured. With this occuring through many thousands of years and these people procreated through natural means the genetic makeup became permanent in them. Could this change through many thousands of years again, it would occur through the peoples groups coming together and like the President have genes from both peoples groups. This is seen in many marriages between dark skined and white skinned couples and a child can be born with light, medium or dark pigmentation depending on the gene that is dominant in that particualr child.
Again the climate change that occured was from pre-flood to post-flood and therefore a one time occurance.
