We have been told that insanity is trying to do the same thing over and over while expecting the different results.

So how many times should we try something before we are considered insane? 3,4,5, 6?

If you chose even six times - does that mean that Moses was insane when he went back to Pharaoh the 7,8,9 and 10th times?

So what Biblical principle should we take from this?

Biblical principle #1: Obey God even if he says to do something that sounds insane.

Biblical principle #2: Don't accept at face value a secular definition of a word and try to see if it fits with scripture.

Biblical principle #3: Forgive your neighbor 490 times, even if he keeps betraying and hurting you.

It could be said Moses was persistent, and it was Pharaoh who was insane.

Repetitive behavior is a good thing - when it is some thing that God expects of you.

Insanity, or stupidity, whichever you wish to call it isn't when you are trying to do the right thing with no luck. It's when you do the same ignorant thing or rebellious thing or harmful thing and expect God to just take care of it all.

You can't eat a honeybun for breakfast every morning and say, "well, I'm trying so hard to lose weight - why isn't is working?"

You can't keep coming in to work late everday and expect your boss to give you a promotion.

You can't keep ignoring your prayer life and Bible reading life and wonder why God isn't blessing you.

There's a difference between living a neglectful or harmful life everyday and expecting new and wonderful things to happen and living a life of obedience to God everyday and living expectingly.

It isn't the expecting the different results. And it isn't even the repetitive behavior. It's is the repetitive behavior what God expects of you or not.
