    Thoughts?

Seems awfully like the Piper book that came out a couple years back...

Two things that throw up red flags, one...Jesus (and his grandmother) telling him earth is not his home (when in actuality this is where God designed for us to live, and He with us), and two....being told to bring as many back to Heaven as he can (around 12 minute mark) as salvation of others depends on him.

He also could "see" prayers

His book is also full of what Jesus told him. Wold this mean the canon of Scripture is not closed and Braxton's book should be included in Scripture? I found out about Braxton as our church has linked to his testimony, and I was a little uncomfortable with that.

He also claims God told him we are all "number one" to God. I'm not even a calvinist, but I think this reeks of man contentedness and stomps on God's sovereignty.

Please, PLEASE make the distinction of who the author of the book is. The author who wrote 90 Minutes In Heaven was Don Piper, not John Piper. Most would know that, but please make that distinction for those that won't.

I think the subject matter of Don Piper's book and all other books and stories about heaven is very problematic. I don't think heaven is problematic. But these books and stories and their rampant popularity do raise one very important question for those that buy and read these books: Was the Bible's view of heaven not good enough for you?

When you watch these things when they are televised, these that go into this peaceful light and what not, they come across as anyone and everyone is dying and going to heaven. This is a lie. These people come away believing this experience was in itself salvific. Yet the Scriptures teach dogmatically there is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved, Acts 4:12.

Let's pretend what they experienced was true, and the light they approached was Christ, yet they re-entered this realm alive. A hypothetical issue here remains: they never really got to that "light" and perhaps when they do for real, all of that peace they say they felt emanating from that light will turn into horror when they realize they are lost for all eternity.

To me what clinches the deal that NONE of the so called near death experiences would be 'revelation" from God to us for today was that in the Bible, Apostle paul did have a real out of body experience, but could not even describe what he saw in heaven, nor was allowed to by God...

lazurus never told us, not Samuel, nor paul, Elijah/Moses etc...

All of them either died and came back or else never died...
Why would God NOT use his inspired authors to record heavenly things other than we we already have?

IF jesus did not tell us any more, WHY trust any of these allenged visions etc?

Doesn't the bible say that satan could transform himself into an angel of light(paraphrasing here)? So, if these accounts are true, maybe it was satan they saw? I have no idea, just some conjecture on my part.
