I need some advice & counsel as to how to "Church Plant" I have spoken to two Pastors (one who has done it before) but Id really like to know more, what some folks experiences have been, etc.

I completely believe my area of New Jersey (NW NJ) has a void area pertaining to lack of true Orthodox Christianity, so this is why Im appealing to the BB for some advise (doesn't have to be Baptist--though I prefer Baptist Distinctives) .... I will leave it up to God & prayer.

    Thanks All (also happy Thanksgiving)

Why would you even think of it, and you say Orthodox Christianity at that. Tell me EWF isn't the One True Church that Jesus formed for "all" of us good enough for you. After all Jesus very clearly stated the following: "I will build MY CHURCH ; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it ". Tell me EWF why do you question the promise of Jesus? Why would you want another church when that Apostolic Church that Jesus formed with His Apostles as its nucleus along with that One True doctrine already grafted/infused [ HS at Pentecost ] as also stated in Romans 16;17-18 "...... in opposition to the doctrine which you have been taught ..." EFW you can't get any more "Orthodox '' than that, now can you ? In that previous verse you can easily read and understand that Jesus already set up His Church with the necessary Doctrine/ Teachings back then. In 1 Cor. 1:10 Jesus wants '... that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. " Matt. 18:15-18 "... tell it to the church" which Church EWF? It had to be His Church then ,not in the future and that Church was based/formed on His teaching apostles. You may ask how do i know because the Bible tells me so Luke 10;16 "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me".- Why would you ever want to reject those Words from Jesus ???

I think you need to humble yourself and actually belong to a local church, prove yourself, learn from someone else (because obviously you seem to think you are way above every pastor there that you've met).

I'd say you're lifted up with pride right now. I say this in love, but it is the truth. You need to prove yourself under someone else.

I don't happen to believe that. God saved you, there is something and some place there. The problem lies within your superior attitude to interview then reject pastor after pastor as if you're above them. You're not mature enough in the faith to be in such a position. You think you are, but you're truly not.

Humble yourself under Gods hand, and in time, He will exalt you.

I'm not dumb to believe He saved you and has no place for you to go. I'd say that fault lies within you. If you humbled yourself, then you'd find a place. Would it be perfect, line up to all you believe in your 1.5 year journey? Nope. But guess what, those preachers assuredly aren't going to go all in at your interview. They've been around the block and have most likely witnessed many persons as yourself who have also questioned them. You have no respect for these pastors. I wonder what that means? Pride on your part perhaps?

Keep in mind there are many happy Calvinists who belong and worship in a church that does not necessarily believe all they believe. It's called maturity to do so.

I don't see much humility in you at all. I say this in love and concern, and it is the truth. If I become your enemy, then that's OK too, that's all up to you, but I'll say it again, you're pride filled and on a dangerous track.

Excuse me, me rambling on... those were the Words from the Word of God , maybe you should learn to have more respect for those verses, but I can see you are avoiding them and only 'cherry pick ' those verse that fit into your man-made religious agenda.

HP: You act as if though it is pride to question a preacher? Your remark seems to me the height of arrogance. Any preacher of truth should welcome questions and be willing to allow their comments from the pulpit or otherwise to be tested.

OK...... How far do you personally drive to Church & what church do you go to? And then what church would you be willing to go to if not the one your going to now?

My post explained Orthodox Christianity, or i should say Jesus explains His Church and you can't get anymore Orthodox than that.

I'm not in your situation, you are.

For you to join a church and become active, you'd have to swallow a lot of pride.

    And it's needful.

HP: Oh sure. Raise your right hand to something you believe is in error, or are you supposed to be satisfied with sitting on the back seat, keeping quite while making certain you pay your tithe?

HP, I just want to say I consider PFT a friend who has seen me struggle over the last year (actually Ive been struggling for almost 2 yrs) with finding a church in the area where I live in New Jersey. He has seen posts where I was both frustrated & tired of looking & so I wrongly complained. In truth that was the wrong thing to do with this particular board. Many of these people live in areas where they have access to some strong churches & most of these places have more than enough churches so that If you dislike one then simply move to another.....unfortunately I dont have that luxury. I live in a region of the country where a few towns might share one Baptist church & lucky to have it. Consequently its a take it or leave it situation & Preach is commenting that Im prideful because I have chosen to leave it.

Instead I want to consider an alternative.....IE, start a Independent Baptist(ic) Church in the rolling hills of New Jersey. I have some folks already interested & I am going into the Latino parts of town to take the gospel to a predominately Roman Catholic community. Now these Latins have no transportation so a church plant right in town would work for them & hopefully take them away from the RC & other apostate churches (which are viaing for their attendance)

That is my plan but if nobody wants to make any positive suggestions & this becomes a rock throwing excersize, then I will request the moderator to close it.

E,W & F I can't offer any advice but I'm willing to pray for you as you seek God's will in this endeavor. :praying:

    Acts 2:42-47
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church[h] daily those who were being saved.

God's Words perversely handled. There is no State Church (Vatican City) founded by Christ in the New Testament. The only State Church union found in Scripture is in Revelation 17-18.
