...some here think I am against debate, or debating. I am not. I am only against they use of name-calling and slanderous innuendos to back up a persons point of view.

As I've said before, I am (at times) as guilty as some, but it is not Christ like to resort to these tactics, and if some want to insinuate that I getting my feelings hurt in debate forums, so be it!

My feelings are not being hurt with honest debate. I am just against using this forum to make a person look less than they are. If you have to resort to this kind of tactic, it is not Christ like debating. :tear:

When I've crossed the line, I've apologized. However, "never" once, in the public (or private) forum have I been tendered an apology for the things that have been said about my character, accomplishments, and credentials.

I wanted to share this, because I am being hit hard from a certain party, and I do not want people to think I am against a good debate. I am sure that some will take past comments and try to spin them to make it sound that way...however, I've always been against the ugliness that some resort to in order to make their points.

    I'm simply setting it straight....

That is so true. We're all guilty of it at times and it's VERY tempting to use a bit of jabbing to make a point, but it definitely goes too far sometimes.

Everyone could work on treating others better, whether we're guilty of doing it just a bit or on a regular basis.

Brother Paul, what I am about to type, I pray will help you. It's not a ten page novel, but "short and sweet".

Whenever someone has said something about me, it has hurt me. However, I think back to the scriptures, and how they spoke about Jesus. Now, if they spoke about Jesus, who didn't deserve anything negative spoken about Him, then why should I hold a grudge, when I am at fault from time-to-time? They talked about Jesus, and I am sure not better than Him. Plus, if they are talking about me, they are leaving my Brethern alone. I have big enough shoulders to carry the load, with God's help, of course.

So press on to the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus our Lord!! :love2::godisgood::jesus::wavey:

Rd2, some people just "ain't" right to begin with.

If you think about it, why should there be a "debate" on any topic of the Word of God? If the issue at hand isn't clear cut and fully understandable to begin with, all the rest is mere speculation and opinion. So what makes my opinion any more grounded than another's?

Of all the truth's Jesus taught through His Sermon on the Mount not once did He advocate debating. Or, for that matter, snake handling; or speaking in gibberish; or feet washing; or misplacing ones salvation; or length of sermon's; or the color of church carpets, etc. Discussing is one thing. Debating is quite another.

I like the part about the man who was being challenged by all the debaters and second guessers of his time and ended up finally telling 'em all, All I know is once I was blind..., but now I see. Praise the Lord!!!!!

It should not be a burden to be a Christian.

Brother, it looks like you're being "moved" quite a bit lately.

    That's Okay...

....it reminds me of my younger days at home. My parents moved at least once a year, mostly because of jobs my dad had.

    Willis...Gina, and HAMel, too!

...your warm words of encouragment are why I remain a member of the board. There are not that many bad seeds, so I continue, as you say, to "press on to the mark of a higher calling!"

I would like to add that I am on several other forums, and this is really the only forum that allows the kind of rudeness and bullying that I encounter. It must be the nature of the beast, and I remain, to be a spiritual thorn and reminder that this behavior is not what Christ would condone.

May you and your families be blessed beyond your hopes this Christmas Day! :type:
