15 makes a quorum?

    Since when does 3% of a membership make a quorum?
    You would need over 100 members for even a 25% quorum.

    If I heard correctly only 15 members were in the House when the "vote" for the "tax cut" bill came up.
    In fact it was passed "with unanimous consent". Another-words if only one Congressman with the courage of his convictions spoke up he would have forced the entire House to vote on this important bill - which the House had just voted down a day or so previously.

    I would like to mention I don't have a problem with "unanimous consent" on a non controversial issue - say naming a Post Office or ect. but this?

    Well, I believe the deal needed to be passed. The RNC leadership is getting handcuffed by these myopic newbies who don't understand political consequences.

    Anyways, I don't understand why (and how) the Congress of these United States gets so much time off. They'll convene on Jan 22 (or something like that.) Absolutely ridiculous. They have work to be done. They need to be strapped to their seats until it gets done.

    Thus, a quorum call would have been in order and, honestly, I would have happier if they had done a "Call of the House" to get everyone back. That said it was a good measure to be passed and Boehner should be encouraged for having done so.

    Congress makes its own rules per the Constitution.

    And Congress exempts themselves from many of the very same laws they force on the rest of us.
