    Federal ban on abortions
The federal government should not play any role in the abortion issue, according to the Constitution. Apart from waiting forever for Supreme Court justices who rule in accordance with the Constitution, Americans do have some legislative recourse. Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution gives Congress the power to strip the federal courts of jurisdiction over a broad categories of cases".
    1 April 2008, The Revolution: A Manifesto (Page 60)

Under the 9th and 10th amendments, all authority over matters not specifically addressed in the Constitution remains with state legislatures. Therefore the federal government has no authority whatsoever to involve itself in the abortion issue. So while Roe v. Wade is invalid, a federal law banning abortion across all 50 states would be equally invalid.
    31 January 2006, LewRockwell.com (Federalizing Social Policy)

So that means that if I am walking down the street and see a house on fire, with a child screaming in the second floor window - I would not go into the house because since it is not my house, I do not want to disobey the law by trespassing. Besides, even though I might be a fireman, since I am not qualified to go into a burning building, I would not want to risk my credentials as a fireman.

Salty...if we want to play out your "scenerio" and apply it to abortions we can do so. I'll ask you these questions. How many abortions have you stopped? How many times have you entered into abortion clinics and rescued babies?

The reason R v W exists is because some judges ignored the constitution. If the Supreme Court or the average congressperson was asked if the constitution still matters, we know what the answer would be. But what would Salty's answer be?

    This is so old.

Do you realize that Paul's plan would make abortion illegal in 18 states, automatically, and in 22 others highly restricted? You are NEVER going to push through a Constitutional amendment. So what, we just let the children continue to be murdered, waiting, rather than doing SOMETHING that would instantly save millions of lives, by a simple majority of congress?

Understand, this is only part one, of a TWO part plan of Paul's. The other, second part, would define life at conception, at which point, ALL of the regular laws against assault, murder, etc., would all apply to unborn children.

Also, this same plan of Paul's would strip jurisdiction from the courts concerning prayer in schools, Bibles in schools, creationism in schools... so we here in Texas could take our schools back!

Oh, I just cant wait, until a Catholic teacher prays the rosary with our students, a Muslim has the kids pray 5 x a day, and of course a Jehovah Witness will do the daily Bible reading out of the NWT....

Do I think they have the right? Yes! Do I like it? No! Yet, giving people freedom means that my homeschool has more freedom under Paul than under Obama.

This sounds remakably similar to "Newt's Scary Idea".

Paul would turn schools back over to PARENTS, who, as a community, would decide whether such things as the rosary is prayed, etc. That way, these things would be both exercised and self-controlled. Just like it used to be. Like it ought to be.

Keeping the feds out of schools can hardly be compared to defunding cicuit courts.

He has already said it. Freedom for him nuts to everyone else.

It's either his way or be banned, beaten and jailed.

Like I told ya before most of the people here only care about the law when it can be used to further their own agenda.
