Origin of this is unknown! However, it is thought provoking...Enjoy!

    To realize
    The value of a sister/brother
    Ask someone
    Who doesn't have one.

    To realize
    The value of ten years:
    Ask a newly
    Divorced couple.

    To realize
    The value of four years:
    Ask a graduate.

    To realize
    The value of one year:
    Ask a student who
    Has failed a final exam.

    To realize
    The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

    To realize
    The value of one month:
    Ask a mother
    Who has given birth to
    A premature baby.

    To realize
    The value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

    To realize
    The value of one minute:
    Ask a person
Who has missed the train, bus or plane.

    To realize
    The value of one second:
    Ask a person
    Who has survived an accident.

Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family member: LOSE ONE.

Remember....give God Praise for all who you have and hold dear to your heart! :type:

To realize the value of food,
    Look at a homeless child.

To realize the value of health,
    Look at someone on chemotherapy.

To realize the value of life,
Look at the one in the coffin.

To realize the value of money,
Look at the one who lost their job.

    And finally:

To realize the value of freedom,
Look at our soldiers over seas.

    And for a little levity:

    To realize true beauty,
    Just look at me!!

In all seriousness, there is much more that we need to value than we actually do. We are really a "thankless" bunch, when you take into consideration the amount of food we toss in the garbage everyday, and others, who don't know where, or when, their next meal is coming from.

    Brother Paul,

Thank you for thinking enough of us to post this here on BB. It is a very thought-provoking, sobering, and humbling article. :jesus::godisgood::applause::applause:

Let me add my thanks, too.

Far too often we don't pause to think about what we really do value the most. And to give thanks unto the Lord for those blessings.

I got news for you, I am without a doubt prettier than you, and I have been told that I am so ugly, I could back a buzzard out of a maggot wagon.

    Convicted and Pastor Paul,
Thank you for the posts. If every citizen in America would thank the Lord for the gift of life every breath we take, and help others more and worry about themselves less, this nation would be transformed in a week way beyond electing any new politician. Its the small blessings that I think we miss sometimes, like looking at the stars, or looking at the beauty of a sunset.

    If you have the opportunity.......

Just before daybreak on a cool misty morning take a walk in the woods with a hot cup of coffee. Find a nice spot and stop. Close your eyes.

Feel the mist on your face. Feel the warmth of the cup. Listen to the sounds as breaking of the dawn brings the world to life. Hear a woodpecker drumming on a tree far away. Geese are loud as they take their first flight of the day. Is that a lizard moving around to absorb the first rays of sunlight to strike the tree? Talk to God.

With your back to the sun, watch the rays of sunlight begin at the top of trees and venture downward. Watch the play of shadow and light as God reveals His creation once more. Watch the mist lift and burn away. Listen as the calm of the dawn gives way to gentle breezes that stir the leaves.

As your coffee cup grows cold, relish the sun's warmth on your hands. Reflect on all you've seen, heard, and felt.

Father, thank you for this day. Thank you for the opportunity to see Your creation unfold before me this morning. You've blessed me beyond words with this quiet time with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for all the blessing to come this day. From the food I eat to the air I breathe I give you the praise and glory. In the name of your most precious son, Jesus Christ, my Saviour, I pray. Amen.
