Do you believe it is godly or Christian to misrepresent what other posters post by rewording what they post based on your own personal view?

I believe it is always the other side (whatever that happens to be) that misrepresents and misquotes what the other side says. :tonofbricks:

It is never prudent nor effective to misrepresent someone.

Maybe what could happen is when we see someone's view that does not line up with our own logic and doctrine we could say:

I see what you are saying and I understand your honest intent, but I struggle to agree that your intent can be possible because is A is true then it makes no sense that you could arrive to your conclusion. My deinition of A is....... and if that is true than your conclusion must be false.

    Rather than saying:

What you really believe, even thought you refuse to admit it is xyz

The latter is rude and puts words in the mouths of other people. And should not be acceptable.

because what is happening now is people are talking around one another and past one another rather than defining issues that can make for a civil discussion.

    Example:

    1. I believe the sovereignty of God means .........

    2. I believe the free will of man means ............

You mean like when I said that I believe the church has always existed since NT times seperate from the RCC and people on here said I was a "landmarkist"?

I posted a statement that I believe to be true, and some on here responded with a lie.

what is confuing here is that when others are shown what they believe and teach here, they still refuse to "own it", and accept that its rightly showing their position!

See this statement is the very problem I am talking about. You do not get to decide what others teach or believe for them. Who do you think you are? The arrogance is astounding.

But thanks for making my case.

lets go to a specific example on this, shall we?

MANY here post that cals make God out to be a "Monster/cruel/unfair etc", which is NOT true, yet when we point out that Non cals DO elevate man free will to be THE determining factor in who gets saved, which IS the truth, they rebel at that!

There is really no need for the pejorative "arrogance" here. More prattle.

That is right it is not true and just as wrong. And no non cals do not elevate mans free will any more than you make God out to be a monster.

No. It can though be done innocently. I've had people misrepresent me before and changed because they realized it. I've done the same thing. I've said things about others and then have been corrected. It's sometimes easy to do when we are looking at something from our perspective and not of the other person.

Having said that, it's very wrong to misrepresent in order to slander the other person or use it for an argument.
