I have sometimes wondered if the hero of Ron Paul is Cpt "Hawkeye" Pierce of 4077 M*A*S*H

Yes, I realize Hawkeye is just a TV character, but look at Paul and Pierce.

They both despise war - they think that we should just leave - even if it means leaving without victory.

    Thoughts?

Paul is against the idea of entering a war that has nothing to do with defending America, and with the intent of leaving without victory to begin with. And Hawkeye's war, Korea, is a prime example.

And like Hawkeye, he served as a military surgeon. Unlike Hawkeye, after his time he then joined the National Guard.

Even though many of his ideas are good and should be implemented he has some that are so extreme, the military is one, because of the extreme Ron Paul will never be President. He may set the stage for someone of his persuasion down the road, but Ron Paul himself will never be president.

From what I have seen here...

Your thoughts concerning the military are far more extreme than Ron Paul's.

And with far less honor than his I should add.

Because you just might learn something! I even learn things from people I totally disagree with.

Having an open mind does not mean you accept anything, rather you are willing to listen to all three sides - and then take the best from all.

For example, I think it is well know, I am not a Ron Paul fan, however, it has been suggested that Ron become Sec of the Treasury. That just may be a good ideal.

Free, I am guessing we are about the same age - and one reason I like Baptist Board is because of how much I can learn from others. (okay, I like doing stupid polls too  )

And I will keep learning until the day I arrive in Glory! :saint:
Wait, there will be even more to learn in Heaven! :type:

I would love to know what happened to the "Lost Colony of Roanoke"

    So don't be so defensive.

That is where we differ. I choose to be open minded as the Lord Jesus and you can choose to as open minded as satan as you want.. I seek to weigh all things by scripture and you can weigh all things by your surroundings.

I do not ask anyone to care about my opinions. I don't even care about my opinions. If I say what the bible says and another agrees then praise God not me and if they do not then shame on them. If I state something and claim it to be truth (of God) and it is not then shame on me, but opinions apart from truth are nothing but wasted times of expression when weighed by another's opinion apart from truth.

Totally uncalled for and extremely judgmental of another w/o anything other than opinion to base it on; if I'm wrong, please enlighten me!
Otherwise, be sure to look in the mirror before you start accusing others of being satanically influenced.

Even if you are wrong in what the Bible says?

Well you sure do seem to like wasting time then.
