The teaching that we each have a personal guardian angel is not supported by scripture, and is a man-made concept....just like when someone says "The Bible says that God helps those that help themselves"....it sounds good but it is simply not there.

    Just another myth.

The Bible does say that Jesus sends the angels to minister to us.....but He also sent my pastor to do the same thing.....(my pastor ministers to me but he does not gaurd me day and night).....and the Bible never says that Jesus assigns an angel to "guard" me personally.

I do believe that the angels protect us all from the demonic spirits of Satan, and are in constant battle with them....but still, this does not support the false teaching that we all have a special angel assigned to us individually.

Do any of you have a guardian angel? What is his name?

And, are all guardian angels, (if they exist), male?

I just want to discuss these myths openly.

Though I don't believe we have one personal guardian angel, I believe God does use the heavenly host to assist us. Elijah demonstrated this, 2 Kings 6:17. There is a valid argument also in Hebrews 1:14. Also of Paul, in Acts 27:23, and of Peter while imprisoned, Acts 12:7.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Psalms 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Psalms 103:20-21 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Mt 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Acts 1215 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

Heb. 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Ps 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

My G.A. has bailed me out many times and I thank God for her, whatever her name is.

My most passionate prayer is "Lord, get me out of this situation." I suspect we who are not Baptists need to pray this so often that God assigns us a G.A.

All angels are male. As the bible shows and when comparing us to them Jesus said we will be like them not getting married. Because there is no need for them to reproduce. There is a set number of Angels and all should be referred to in the masculine Context though really they are not sexual. Even though some Jews and Christians blame them for the giants or the Nephalim.

Well, it is not often I can agree with you on something but here is an exception to the rule. I agree with this statement 100%
