If Ron Paul is elected President will he veto any spending bill that is not 100% earmarked on the principled belief that he claims to hold that only Congress is authorized by the Constitution to spend the money?

Has he said anything to indicate what he plans to do in this regard as President?

If Ron Paul wins the nomination, then I will be voting FOR a candidate for the first time since Reagan.

(All my votes since Reagan have been votes against the worse evil.)

    Should Paul Become POTUS...

...he'll find out it is much more involved and politically difficult than he imagined. In fact, like Obama, he'll discover that saying it, and doing it (getting it passed and into law) are two different things.

I agree with your post. I do not believe we have had a legitimate President since Reagan. The biggest criticism I have of Reagan is his choice of Vice President. Had he chosen someone else, in all likelihood, our nation would have been spared twelve years of the Bush family. I have voted Republican since Reagan, but increasingly angry about it. Bush the first was an obvious wishy washy liberal to moderate. I then voted for Dole, which was kind of like voting for Ford or Nixon, not good and not bad. Then came twice voting for Bush the second, which left us with record deficits, an economy in shambles, and a bigger government than ever. After voting for McCain, I drew the line. No more liberal, pseudo-conservatives are getting my vote. Last year I joined the Constitution Party after being a Republican 40 years. Romney is so low, he is lower than I allowed by standards to get by voting for McCain. I have enough similance of integrity left not to vote for someone who comes from a cult that degrades the Divinity of Jesus, plus the gall to campaign as a conservative after his record in Massachusettes.

Okay, for the exercise of the game...

Paul would bring on board a whole host of advisors -- most of whom are already gainfully employed in Washington DC doing what they know how to do -- run our government. He would appoint a Cabinet -- becasue he HAS TO -- and that Cabinet would include the same positions it does now. His appointees would be friends that he owes political and monetary favors, same as everyone else who has ever been elected.

He would search for a Chief of Staff to run his White House, and that person would probably have more influence over day-to-day operations than Paul, so hopefully the person has some clout and some savvy in order to get things done. The Chief of Staff would hire a kitchen staff, a personal chef, and all the other hirelings it takes to run something like the Presidency.

He would be "handled" by Secret Service and in his VERY FIRST breifing he would realize that he has no choice in this matter, for the simple facts would be presented to him which indicate that X number of persons are RIGHT NOW working out their plans to rid the world of this sitting President.

He would get world breifings from the NSA, FBI, CIA, and the whole host of other deeper and more top secret federal agencies that do their work around the world. He would then realize that he could not possibly enact his campagin pledges concerning his isolationism. He would enact his first Executive Order and send the National Guard to the border states. He would not care about the political fall out for this action.

He would begin to have meetings with the leaders of Congress and he would ask them to behave and to "get something done" for America. They would turn and do their own thing -- as always -- and start laying bills on his desk that he would in turn veto, and -- as always -- nothing of consequence would get done.

    This is his first week...

By his second week he would be very tired of the government and realize that he is in over his head and he, like some who have come before, would let those who actually know how all this stuff works run the government and they would feed him reports that make him happy while manipulating everything to continue on in the way that they wish.

Thanks for the link, but it doesn't answer the OP question.

    Congress writes the bills.

The President either signs them or vetos them.

Will President Ron Paul veto any spending bill that is not 100% earmarked?

So will President Ron Paul veto any bill that is not 100% earmarked?

Why won't anyone venture an opinion?

Because there are bigger fishes to fry. Like our current fascist form of government. Let's get our country back from the imposters that hijacked it then we can talk about "earmarks".

Have you even wondered what happened to the 14 trillion dollars the globalists have sucked out the economy? Probably not huh. Too busy worrying about "earmarks" I'll bet.

"Bigger fish to fry" is not a valid excuse for trying to hijack a discussion.

If you want to talk about something else then simply start another thread.

No one can answer your question. It is impossible to speculate. There are too many variables.

However; I sure hope he does. I don't like giving bloated executive bureaucracy a blank check.

So once Ron Paul is President his sterling record of consistency on Constitutional issues would end. In other words, he'll be like every other politician that becomes President. (See glfredicks excellent post #8, above)

Not at all. He would do as he always has done; fight and veto

As far as Glfredricks other post, it is not at all thought out. Paul already has the support of CIA insiders, military commanders, etc., that are already privy to this classified information about "all that we are doing" in the world, and think that it is ridiculous, and agrees with Paul. There is no reason to think Paul would change his mind, when these men that are already "in the know" have not.

Paul has not a clue right now.

I've watched political campaigns for several decades now. It is always fun to see that day when the two nominees who actually stand a chance of getting elected in the national election get briefed at the presidential level. Their rhetoric almost always changes in one instant following...

Puh-leeze. Ron Paul does not have the support of the the majority of the CIA or or a majority of military commanders. It's illegal for military personnel to endorse candidates. The people that do agree with him would be breaking the law if they passed along top secret information. Furthermore, Paul serves on three insignificant subcommittees and would have no access to classified intelligence information. The guy is clueless. If he were to become president I'd expect his position on Iran to change in half an hour.

I wonder if he would use executive orders to eliminate unconstitutional policies, and then get rid of executive orders as the final executive order. :D
