Though I consider myself a pretty informed pastor, until recently I was not aware there existed a Dominion Theology. Maybe I had heard of it, but just don't recall. What's your take on it? Who are some preachers and/or denominations and/or churches that espouse it?

it is a combo of Theology that comes in from those expousing reconstructionists movement, that sees America as being to be under the OT law of God, to have our civil laws follow the law of God in our society...

Also brings together divergent groups like Kingdom now and those hold to America and the world being "brought under" the control of God, that our society would directly be established upon OT laws, Bible principles, and that the Church would establish Kingdom of God by bring all of culture under mandate of God! Some even held that God would "manifest his sons" in the church at end times, as the saints would have same empowering as Apsotles to heal, do miracles etc!

See gary demarss the Reuction of Christian, rebuttal to Dave Hunt the Seduction of Christian, and also see Rousa Rushdoony, the Institutes of Biblical law!

Interesting is that the movenent dsprung from calvinist circles, than had Bishop paulk pentacostal flavoring sprinled in !

2 BIG problems with that Theology!
One is that they view the OT laws as being applicable in full to nations today, other than was mandated JUST to govern Isreal under PT

other is they view the job of the church today as being NOT primarily to witness to Christ, to worship God, but to actually take over this worlds 'systems" for God, to become modern day church as in Acts, with all signs/wonders.healings etc full restored!

We would be getting world ready for return of Christ by taking it fully over...

problem is that neither of their main ponts are found in scriptures!

yes, I thought at times the bethtren holding to CT have appeared to be trying to "mix" the OLD/NEW covenants together, in the sense thatwhile saved totally by Grace of God, but try to have the rules/regulations of law still in force upon us!

Big in the "keeping of the Law!"

Strange mix of bedfellows invoved here!

Those holding to OT Laws for nations today, taking back over world systems from satan back to Christ, and pentacostal teachings on modern day Apsotles/Prophets, basically that the current church will be restored back to Apostolic days as regards signs/wonders/healings!

This is the first group I know of that want to return to animal sacrafices and all the feasts and festivals and claim to be christian so If that is what they hold then I would say they are incorrect. By the way what is PT?
