Simply put, Modalism is more mysterious than that which it denies.

Please elaborate. That sentence alone seems rather meaningless to me. Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that. Trinitarians often concede that while they understand the God of Scripture as One in Three Persons, with each being fully God and that One God, that there remains an element of mystery.

Now, the problem with modalist is that God is One but only in manifestations, not Persons, Unitarianism, if you will.

So texts like Matt 3:16ff and the many Trinitarian texts in Paul are mysteriously reread by the Modalist.

the easy cure to their heretical reading of the Nature of God would be to read and expound upon the Gospel of John, as he made it quite clear int he greek text that Jesus is/was God, yet a distinct and seperate person from another who was also God, the One that he called as Father!

There was three persona, not three persons in the modern English sense of the word.

    I disagree.

The word persona would hold to the view that there is one God who is "personified" in three modes. Be careful of the typical sabellianism heresy manifested in the assemblies that gather around the concepts held by groups such as Assemblies (or) Church of God and Unitarian.

3 seperate "persons" is the best way we can define and understand it, each ONE sharing same essence/powers/knowledge etc, all three make up the Godhead, one God, but has seperate persons within the Single God!

Bible teaches that, believe it, cannot explain it!

Give Grudem a read on the Trinity. It's a simple yet profound approach, though he employs "Persons."

Yes, the text of Scripture calls for understanding each as distinct.

IF we read it without that disction, then we should be actually persons who hold to many gods, NOT 1 God in 3 seperate roles, 3 different names!

    Also begs the question....

IF God is indeed One person, assuming 3 seperate roles....

When God died on the cross, who was "running the show?"

Who was jesus addressing as His father?

And, why does 2 Corinthians have Jesus submitting final authority to God?

    :)

    good one!

Also, no one knew the time of His returning, except the Father, and jesus said the Father was greater than Him!

Who was he referring to here?
