It makes perfect sense when you understand liberal thinking. To the liberal, everything -absolutely EVERYTHING - belongs to the government, and they just decide what percentage of their property that we acquire (such as by doing our jobs) that we get to keep. For that mindset, it's a completely logical conclusion that allowing the people to keep more of the money they earn is simply an increase in government spending. The amazing thing isn't that liberals believe that. The truly amazing thing is how many people who emphatically DISAGREE with that kind of thinking go to the polls and vote for Democrats.

This has been the deceitful ploy of the left for a long time and continuing. The media lets them get away with it.

However, in an uncommon defense of the left, I will agree with them in that big-government republicans are always for wars and the expansion of myriad agencies to administer them, yet they never raise taxes to pay for them. So the republicans see no problem with adding to the national debt and inflating the money to push the payments off onto some future generation.

Better vote for Ron Paul. He is the only in either of the two monopoly parties with a solution.

Do I "spend" when I use a credit card? If not, don't tell The Wife. <G>

A more applicable picture would be a worker and his salary and budget. If I get paid $50k a year and I am normally looking to get a $5000 raise I adjust my projected budget for it. Now if the boss says we don't get the raise because sales are down I do not count the cancelled raise as spending.

No sane person counts a change in their income as spending. They count their actual spending as spending.

So are you saying that the Dem's are the Party of no wars and smaller govt?
You state Paul is the ONLY saviour.

First of all when someone states a certian individula is the ONLY... then I have no respect for you.

Here is an excellent anology of R Paul fiscal policy. A family has a food budget of $500 per month. Then Dad decides Mom should be able to get by with only $350 a month.

BTW, I do support Rep and Dems who are fiscally responsible. In fact here in Syracuse, our Mayor, though socially liberal, tends to be a bit conservative when it comes to spending taxpayer money.

One other thing, you complain about the Rep increasing the govt - yes they have voted - but remember it takes 535 men to vote on issues - thu two houses of Congress. There is a lot of compromising and "sneaking in" add ons. (I'm sure that Paul is just as guilty).

Part of the problem is who does the Congressman actually represent? This can get off OP a bit, so here is a link to a new subject. Click here for BB

Here is Winston Smith’s definition of “doublethink” in the novel 1984 written by George Orwell in 1948-9:
