How many of you ever noticed the description of a fire breathing dragon as reflected in Job 41?

My friend. I have no problem believing that dragons or unicorns existed. They are not as farfetched as people might think.

I think this is an allegory of Satan, the great red dragon of Rev. 12. Anyone else agree?

    Sure, why not.

And the wild donkey in Job represents the Democrats.

If it is Satan then Satan sounds erily similar in appearance to a dragon of folklore. "Leviathan" is indicating this is a physically large beast.

Brothers, it was just a "thought". It's not like I was going to go a write a 500 page novel telling you this was him.

15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.

24 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.

34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

These verses in Job 41 stuck out to me. Are not these characteristics of satan?

I think this is a "depiction" of satan....

    Revelation 12
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

What a wonderful day that will be!!! To no longer be accused before my Father's throne.

Satan has never lied to my Father about me. It wasn't necessary for him to lie and that is shameful! Shameful that my sin is ever before me, and shameful that my life is such a sorry state that Satan can easily find failure and sin.

Abba, help me face the enemy with the "full armor of God" and overcome that enemy by Christ's blood bought Word!

Right here I think supports my claim. Satan was called a "great red dragon", even though we know he isn't a "literal" dragon. I think Job 41 depicts satan's characteristics, that is what I was trying to convey. Sorry if I confused anyone.

Would say that this is indeed an allogory view for Satan , but do see dinosaurs in Levithian/Behemoth in there though!

There are many things in the Bible we shouldn't take literally. Also it's worth noting Job isn't as straightforward a book as some people think. It's poetic form is infused with allusions and mythic structures. :)

All I can say is, it's a difficult passage, and in trying to view it as an allegory of Satan is a stretch IMO.

I believe Job is describing a creature in great detail; whether it's a dragon or not.

Even allegory must have some basis of truth.

Perhaps such a creature did exist.

The flickering tongue of a snake is a warning of fiery pain.

Besides, my beautiful bride won't let me smooch her until I take care of the dragon breath. :)

Even though Job is a poetic book, in this section God is describing His creation. Which of His other creations will we say is not real? I believe Job knew of this creature because he had seen it.

Leviathan is also talked about in Ps.74:14, 104:26, and Is. 27:1.

Yes, if God can make fire shoot out of the rear of a beetle, I'm sure he could have made some creatures (special dinosaurs) with the same or similar apparatus in their mouth.
