if so, what is it, and what basis do you claim it inspired by God?

Psalm 19 identifies three sources of revelation of God to man.

    1. External Natural revelation - vv. 1-5
    2. Written revelation - vv. 6-11
    3. Internal natural revelation - vv. 12-14

Only special revelation (God's written Word) provides direction for living and for salvation - Psalm 119

Natural revelation provides sufficient light to prove that man is in rebellion against God and is a sinner.

Jesus is God revealed incarnate, and according to Romans 1:19-20 states God revealed Himself in creation. He also reveals Himself as the Holy Spirit as our internal witness.

I think we must distinguish between objective and subject revelations. The only present objectives from God are nature and the written revelation.

The incarnate revelation of God no longer exists on earth. The Holy Spirit within the realm of the human spirit is subjective and any claims must be tested by the objective Word of God.

Satan is perfectly capable of duplicating miracles signs and wonders (2 Thes. 2:9; Mt. 24:24) and therefore such things must be tested by the objective witness of God's written revelation (Isa. 8:20).

Are you talking about public revelation or private revelation? Public revelation ended with the death of the last apostle. Private revelation, i.e., revelation from God to individuals for them only continues even today, and Biblicist and Sola Saint have given good examples.

was referencing ANY doctrine/practices a church or an individual might hold, that was supported by NOT the Bible, but by another extra biblical source!

Where is the basis to be able to make claim not in bible, but ok to use as in another source?

As has been said above, specific revelation via the Scriptures and general revelation via creation.

It is amazing to dig into persons like Plato and see just how much of God they discerned from mere observation of the general revelation -- enough so that some in the realm of Christiandom adopted some of his principles -- which speaks to the truths found IN the specific revelation, particularly Romans 1 and some of the Psalms that speak to God's glory revealed through nature.

What we can never know, however, is the specifics of salvation, except that God revealed it and Himself to us.

I listened yesterday to June Hunt state that God still uses dreams.

That does seem to be the case in some areas where Islam makes for closed regions. I did some missiological research into the issue for an issue of the SBTS Journal of Theology a while back and intereviewed several persons who had dreams and became converts to Christ because of them.

But, a caveat is that WE cannot manipulate dreams, nor can we somehow cause them to occur. We might "accept" them if they occur, especially if they transform someone otherwise hardened to the true gospel and cause the church to gain a foothold in a closed area.

I take it 'hany' is a new word conglomeration containing 'have' and 'any' into one conveniently shortened word! Thanks Jesusfan!

have heard that missionaries in Islam areas said that people had dreams/visions of Christ, and also in rarer cases, actually signs and wonders done By God!
