The Republicans keep hammering nails in their own coffin. There are moderates and liberals in the country. Ignore them and you will never win a nation wide election.

Rush has got a fat gut and a fat mouth; he needs to just shut up.

Any of the Republican candidates are better than Obama -- well, maybe not Newtie -- but stuff like this is going to hand Obama the election. Obama shot himself in the foot over the Catholic Church and contraception thing, but leave it to an egomaniac to turn things around.

[/FONT]Yes, with this issue the Republicans had a golden opportunity to sway people, but that has been completely blown away. The various candidates weak response has not helped.

This should have been the perfect year for a Republican victory, and may still be, but it is like they seem to do everything possible to hand Obama a victory on a silver platter. Two prime examples are lowering their standards to the degree of giving Romney a front runner status, and allowing Rush Limbaugh to be any part of their message.

Their going to get the same type candidate they had with McCain in Romney. He won't be able to defeat Mr. Obama. Sanatorum may but they have no great conservative leader like a Ronald Reagan to step up and even want the nominantion. Rominy is way too liberal and can't even talk about repealing the fiasco called ObamaCare by many. It has already started to affect many of the poor and elderly in the worst of ways. Many can't get the help they need and if they illness is life threating they are being thrown aside. It's happening to a friend of mine right now. His liver is going on him and his DR. says if he doesn't get a transplant by years end he will die. Medicaid has a two year waiting period and he had some problem with his military records so can't get VA help right now. Living on a fixed income and needing medicine and seeing the DR. and his DR. tell him it is all these health care laws that are the cause. His Dr. hate the new law. One is treating him for free and doing the best they can for.
Obamacare is based on Rominy care so we don't need Rominy in office either.
Taht puts us down to Sanitorum, Newt and Ron Paul. I guess Sanitorum is the lesser of the evils and at least seems to be a fiscal conservative who will cut spending and the deficit. Hopefully we get a Republican controlled senate and congress with the 1/3 majority needed to override President Obama's policies if he gets a second term, and he just might.
At least with this congress we see a little improvement in the economy with their policies. 2 years and finally seeing movement thanks to their policies.

For anyone who has the ability to think for themselves and is not a Democrat or Republican stooge, this election is a catch 22. Neither candidate is worthy of one American vote. The only difference between the two is that Obama is more direct about his liberal, tax and spend policies. Romney is not only a liberal, anti-Constitutional, anti-Christian liar, he has no moral bearing one way or the other. If the situation calls for a pro-abortion stance, he will take that side. If the situation calls for a right to life stance, he will take that side. This is the lowest form of humanity. He is basically a peddler exchanging the blood of innocent children for votes.

I have no doubt that this was an orchestrated liberal progressive (LP) setup.

Rush took a huge bite of the cheese and got his head caught in the mouse trap.

However, expanding upon the short-term calculus of the event and Rush's suddenly increasing popularity , it might just backfire on them (LP).

Hey, it happened to Michael Savage.

Dude, are you obsessed with Rush Limbaugh, or what?

Rush Limbaugh is not the Republican Party. Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. He has a schtick where he adopts conservative ideas to fuel his entertainment.

The left thinks they have a drum to beat now. Their false political agenda to paint this current contraceptive issue as a war against women is the drive behind the focus on Rush. This is all about abortion and keeping it both legal and paid for by the tax payers. And apparently someone on this board is part of that political group.

Of course the left always ignores its own side that uses worse language that Rush is being accused of.

Crabby, why, then, are you beloved Democrats ignoring that there are conservatives in this country? When will you post a thread with some of the foul things Michael Moore has said?

This has nothing to do with abortion, this one incident, or what the left says. What the left says has nothing to do with the actions and demeanor of Rush Limbaugh. This one incident has very little to do with the overall demeanor of Rush Limbaugh. The focus of the problem is the character of Rush Limbaugh and why Christians are defending such a piece of garbage.

Defending Rush Limbaugh by saying the left is just as bad is no defense at all. It is like trying to justify a vote for Mitt Romney because Obama is so bad, when there are other choices.

I agree with this general principal.

I will also state that generally, I agree with Rush. Is he perfect- of course not - but I do agree with him quite often.

As far as the statement of this female be called a slut - if this female was married, I am sure she would have mentioned it - if she needed birth control for a contrition other than pregnancy prevention - I am sure she would have mentioned it.
But here is the bottom line - it is a matter of forcing a business to fund a procedure that they find to be immoral!

Suppose a conservative Presidential candidate said he favored a law that banks, stores, ect could require all women to remove their burqas before entering. ( Why not - a burqa could be an excellent covering in a person wanted to rob a bank or store. In fact, banks do not allow Halloween masks, esp on Halloween! ) The libs would yell and scream saying the conservatives do not care about the freedom of religion.
(in fact, as a driving instructor, I believe a woman with a full face burka should not be permitted to drive.

Bottom line - the issue boils down to this:
    Freedom of religion
Being forced to pay for something immoral
    Morality

I personally do not see the "pill" as immoral in it self - as the Catholics do - but I do support and respect their right to that belief. Obama has stated that now a religious institution will not have to pay directly for birth control - but their insurance companies must still provide such drugs. In reality the Catholic hospital is still paying for it.
In addition, if I owned a business (officially non-religious) why should I be forced to pay for providing abortions?

The remark made by Rush saying the female is a slut is only being used as an excuse by the libs to demand their immoral life style.

    Salty

PS - and no - and neither do I excuse Rush's divorces.
