Man...sometimes I really don't like living in Indy, but other times I do.

I have to say I'm enjoying this. I don't like the Colts, and some of the fans here are the worst. While I feel bad for Manning...because I think he wanted to retire a Colt, the fans here just don't seem to get it.

I'd love to read "Coach Derek Dooley Fired, Peyton Manning new Vols Head Coach"

Isn't he leaving because he wants more money the Colts do not want to pay?

They never even talked about restructuring. Part of his old contract had a huge bonus that would've been due to him today/tomorrow. The team did not want to pay it, so they let him go.

Manning offered earlier (and did so in the past) to restructure his contract for the team. This was something already done...and the team chose to let him go.

I know that the "sexy" pick is PM going to the Dolphins. I have a feeling he may end up with the Cardinals. They have enough weapons on offense to entice him, plus they would only have to compete with the 49ERs in the NFC West. In the AFC East, there's the Pats, Jets, and Bills. Their division(AFC East) is tougher the the NFC West.

Dooley has everything under control, don't worry about it. Give him some time, he'll win a few SEC and National Championships, then after Peyton's won a few more Superbowls with his new team, than he can come coach for the Vols.

    I just don't see it.

After 2 seasons, lack of talent aside, he continues to make the same mistakes that a first year coach would make (and I'm not talking first year at a major program, I'm talking first year).

His gameday planning is terrible. I don't think his X's and O's are that solid, and I really doubt his basic math skills at times.

He's a very smart man, and I think he's a very good recruiter...but with the direction college football is taking, and the SEC especially, I find it very laughable that he'll win a "few" SEC and National Championships.

We finished dead last in the SEC last year. DEAD Last. And this was the worst the SEC East has been since the divisions were set up. It was terrible. Florida won't be down long (although I don't think Muschamp is the answer either) and it looks like Richt may actually be heading in the right direction again. At best next year we're #4 in the east. Dooley may not get a year 4 with that kind of conference record

    Schedule for next year

    vs. NC State
    vs. Georgia State
    vs. Florida
    vs. Akron
    @ Georgia
    @ Mississippi State
    vs. Alabama
    @ South Carolina
    vs. Troy
    vs. Missouri
    @ Vandy
    vs. Kentucky

The bold are the ones I predict we win. That I feel confident right now, based on the talent level we bring back (if healthy) that we should win. Red are ones I assume we lose. The other 2 left alone are tossups. Let's assume that we win one of those other games and go 8-4. That's still 4-4 in the SEC East. I would be absolutely shocked if we did any better than 9-3, which is still 5-3 in the East.

8 wins buys Dooley a 4th year I would imagine. But I don't see the team being a legit SEC title contender, let alone national title contender anytime soon. Not unless some of the new hire coordinators pan out and help Dooley out some

And before you Kentucky fans say it: Yes, I know we lost to a WR playing QB last year. It was bound to happen sometime

He is currently at Broncos headquarters....along with his Dad, Archie.

This is going to get interesting...I am a TEBOW fanatic.

Peyton to Denver makes sense. With him the Broncos are legitimate threat that should go deep in the playoffs. Tebow can still come in to do his wildcat thing since hes essentially a RB who can compete some passes, heck, sitting under Manning might make him a real qb! ;)

Long term for the Broncos, and Tebow (if Tebow is to stay in Denver) is to bring in Manning and let him play if he's healthy. It certainly couldn't hurt Tebow to sit under Manning.

I don't know what the contract structure is with Tebow, but why look to trade him?

Looks like Manning is all but a done deal. I'd keep Tebow around, let him learn from Peyton.

In a nutshell, Robertson says that if Manning gets hurt again-----he deserves it!!!

I don't think Manning will last long and I'm bummed my Bronco's let Tebow go. I think Tebow could have learned a tremendous amount working with Manning. It all seems high-risk and short-sighted to me.

Mostly, I will miss the great example of his faith Tebow was to everyone around him in Denver. I don't know much about Manning's character or personality. As an outsider he always looked to me like a private person who didn't much care what anyone thought of him. I hope he's more open and involved than that.

I half expect Manning to spend most of the next year or two on the bench and then to be released. But I think Tebow may retire fairly early, for a QB, to do missionary / outreach or other work according to his faith.

Manning seems like the type (especially with what he was trying to do with his contract) that he wouldn't do this if he doesn't think he's healthy. If he is, I think he's got 2-3 really good years left.
