Would Norman Geisler be A Good Systematic Theologian?

    As I saw his theology book and skimmed it, seemed to be OK, but definitly NOT calvinistic!

    Would he be considered a good theologian for Arminian theology for today?

    To answer the OP question (a bit different than the one asked in the post): he IS a good systematician b/c he is such a good philosopher. But I find many of his views lacking. And even though his Syst Theo is 4 volumes, it is still closer to the lay level than upper academic. I will say, however, that the 1st volume is probably the best of the 4. But that is because he is a philosopher first.

    As to the question in the post... I think he is closer to semi-pelagianism than true arminianism. But really he just condenses down his Chosen but Free book in his systematics.

    Another bonus that I like about his Syst Theo is that he gives a good treatment to the historical understanding of a doctrine with good citations.

    that would seem to be whatI read while skimmimh through it...

    It seemed to be written at say an intro college level course, not seminarylevels, but would also say that he does nice job in giving all of the above ways the doctrines have been held before giving his own!
