Christ tells his own disciples (not unbelievers) that the following paradoxes are true.

    1. The first shall be last
    2. Serve to be master
    3. Suffer in order to be happy.
    4. Die in order to live

It is these paradoxical statements that define the abundant life as a Christian rather than becoming a Christian. When we repent of our sins and receive the gospel of Christ we have been "saved" (past tense) and "justified" (past tense).

The key to living the "abundant life" (not merely obtaining eternal life) is to be able to EXPERIENCE what you have positionally "in Christ"! Positionally we are now "seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" but let's face it we are personally on earth and this is not exactly a heavenly place or circumstances.

The key to experiencing the promises of joy, blessings, growth, increased usefulness, etc. is to be conformed first to the DEATH of Jesus Christ toward sin and EXPERIENCE the resurrected life of Christ or the POWER of the resurrected life Christ here and now. Without EXPERIENTIAL death there can be no EXPERIENTIAL life and apart from "reckoning" by faith and "yeilding" by faith there can be neither. "As you have received the Lord Jesus Christ so walk ye in him" (Col. 2:6) is the simple key to the abundant life. If we "live in the Spirit" then we ought to "walk in the Spirit" (Gal. 5:25) is the same simple key said another way.

If we want to experience the power of the resurrection we must first die daily, be conformed to His death, mortify the deeds of the flesh" experientially die to sin.

If we want to experience the power of the resurrection we must first "reckon" ourselves dead to sin and "yeild" ourselves unto God by faith.

Both Experiential death and experiential life are above our own ability to experience or implement. Both require faith and that is why Paul said "as you received the Lord Jesus Christ SO WALK ye in him."

We were justified by faith in Christ. That is, by faith we received the good news that Jesus both lived and died IN OUR PLACE as OUR SUBSTITUTE and God accepted Christ's life and death as the full satisfaction "for us" before His law. Hence, we are judicially DEAD to sin and judicially ALIVE to God. That is our right and position before God by faith but that is not our PERSONAL CONDITION on earth as we are still PERSONALLY a work still in progress. We have been regenerated and have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, thus given all that we need to EXPERIENCE our position by law in our own person on earth as a matter of progressive growth in grace until we are perfected in grace in the resurrection. We have been given a measure of faith, a measure of grace and a determined ultimate potential of growth determined by God's purpose for bringing us to life when and where it hath pleased him to accomplish his purpose for us and when that purpose is completed then death will bring our life to a close and death will stop us in whatever progress we have attained in this life.

Every child of God has been given everything they need to accomplish God's will in their life to attain the potential of progressive growth. They have the new birth, they have the indwelling Holy Spirit, they have been gifted to accomplish His will and received all this initially by faith (1 Pet. 1:1-4) and thus all they need from that point forward is to "add" to that faith or grow upon that foundation (1 Pet. 1:5-11).

Their rate of progress in spiritual growth is wholly dependent upon their complete dependency upon Christ - "without me ye can do nothing." The victorious Christian life is a life of dependency - it is the practice of reckoning by faith to what you already have and yeilding by faith to Christ.

In order to live you must first die and die daily. By faith you must acknowledge that judicially you have already died to sin by the body of Christ and reckon it as such. However, reckoning it so and experiencing it depends wholly upon "yeilding" to the power of the Indwelling Spirit to experientially MORTIFYING THE DEEDS OF YOUR BODY by the resurrected life, power of the Spirit of life within you. To become first you must be last. To live you must die. To be the master you must serve others. To be happy you must suffer with Christ. All of this is accomplished by the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit manifesting the life of Christ through you and your own personal life. What the world then sees, hears and experiences is Jesus Christ and the world responds to you just as they did to him - they persecuted him and thus he suffered and thus you suffer with Christ through the resurrected life of Christ being manifested in and through your and your life.

Your entrance into the Christian life began with submission, yielding to the gospel of Christ and dependence upon His promise. As you received the Lord Jesus Christ so walk ye in him is the secret of experiencing the Christian life after new birth.

You have to be kidding. You have a lot of nerve to post all this after everything you and DHK has said to HP and me. How would you like it if someone came along and posted all the sin promoting stuff here that you posted to HP and me?

You are proving you don't understand my position at all. What I said here is perfectly consistent with what I have been saying all along. What I am saying here and there is what Paul says in the first half of Philippians 3:12 as well as in the second half of Philippians 3:12. He admits he cannot live above sin in the first half "but" that does not deny he does not press toward that goal in spite of the fact he cannot reach it in this life in the second half. He admit he sees himself PRESENTLY as the "cheif" of sinners which proves He walks close to God, as you cannot walk closely with pure light of righteousness and not see how far you come short -the closer you walk the greater you see your need to be more holy and how unholy you really are compared to God. You need to get into his light if you want to see your true condition which is not very pretty.

All those who believe the truth of God's word clearly understand what I have said in regard to both. You simply do no understand what I have said or what Paul has said. The reason you don't, is because you are forcing God's word into your preconceived unbiblical doctrine.

The true child of God has been born again and therefore God has created in him not merely "true righteousness and holines" after the image of God (Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10) but has WASHED and RENEWED him thus permenantly changing his heart from inclination toward sin to inclination toward righteousness (Ezek. 36:26-27). He sins more than he wants to! The closer he walks with God the greater he sees his sinfulness and need to grow in grace and righteousness before God and that is why Paul in OLD AGE could admit in the PRESENT TENSE that he IS the "CHIEF" of sinners.

The lost man and false professor are those who REFORM their lives to conform to Jesus Christ. It does not work! It does not last for long before it is apparent by either their doctrine or life they have never been TRANSFORMED by the creative power of God. Those TRANSFORMED by the power of God are not sinless but desire to sin less and when they sin, even when no human eyes see it, are greived by it. They are greived because they have a NEW HEART that loves righteousness and hates sin but yet have indwelling sin in their members which wars against their inward new man.

The lost man and the religious lost man have no conscious greif over their sins because they are not conscious of their sins. Instead they are those who justifiy THEMSELVES before men. They justify themselves by either denial - I live above sin OR comparison - I am no worse or better than others. They cannot and will not say - I "AM" chief of sinners. This is what a true born again person experiences when they are being saved. This is what a true born again person experiences when they are truly walking in the light as He is in the light as only in His light can they see how imperfect they really are.

You really don't understand that it is you that is really exposed and you wont understand that unless the Lord has mercy on your soul and opens your eyes to your depraved self-righteousness.

Look at yourself! You can mock and ridicule me but you cannot deal with the Biblical evidence I place before you and you don't even attempt to try! Why? If you could you would. However, the scriptures expose your doctrine as false and it does in plain simple but explicit language.

the closer one draws the the Lord, the more real we get in the fact that we had NOTHING to offer Him in order to save us, and just HOW sinful we are when compared to His perfection!

Can you show me scripture that says this, or is this man’s wisdom? I love the Word of God. Please show me if this is an exact scripture, or man's assumptions.

You said, “the closer one draws the the Lord, the more real we get in the fact that we had NOTHING to offer Him in order to save us, and just HOW sinful we are when compared to His perfection!”
It took until you got closer to the Lord to see just how sinful you are? According to the Bible, we admit we are sinful and repent before we are saved. I have noticed that Calvinists say what you said, or something similar. Calvinists are known for saying the same things.

Explain to us why the sinless angels cover their face and feet in the presence of God?

Isa. 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Explain why even Moses, the most meekest man on the face of earth could not look upon the Lord and live but God had to place him in the clift of the rock and only showed him the hinder parts of Him?

Ex. 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Moriah can you see yourself in the dark? When you walk in the light as He is in the light what do you see about yourself Moriah? Do you see any difference between you and God or do you see yourself as good as Jesus and getting better every day?
