Just leave a note about how much gas is in your area of the nation (please leave a general idea of where you reside). Also, is the price of gas effecting your summer vacation plans, gift and tithe to church, cost spent on food, eating out, movies, family activities, new purchases around the home (inside and out).

    Thanks!

I am now paying over $4.30 a gallon. I ive in the Riverside, California area, 60 miles south of LA. It has effected my amount of driving, and other family related expenses (I've cut back to make ends meet). :tear:

I live in Lone Oak, Kentucky and paid $3.60 per gallon today. I am not surprised ours lags yours. My wife and I went to California last summer to San Diego, LA, Death Valley and other spots, and it was higher than we are used to. Yes, it is affecting our travel plans this summer, which will be none or very close locally, like Nashville, TN. I would say in our family the first thing to go are the trips out to eat, or at least eating at cheaper places. Also, major purchases for appliances and furniture is delayed. We are more careful about the number of trips. For example, on a trip to church, we might go to the grocery before going home, stuff like that. Another area that always gets cut in times like this are birthday and Christmas expenses.

I live in the south west of the UK. I have a diesel car. Diesel here is about £1.40 per litre, which works out at about $8.30 per (U.S.) gallon. Thankfully, my car is very fuel-efficient - even on stop-start town driving, I get about 40 miles per (U.S.) gallon.

Gas varies in different parts of the UK, as does diesel. Here in Gloucestershire diesel is about £1.44. per litre and petrol is around £1.35. per litre :(

Yes, that the usual here in Devon too. My figures were based on the cheapest supermarket filling station.

out of curiosity...what is the make & model of your diesel? Can the car comfortably accommodate 4 passengers like a mid-sized sedan or are people scrunched in?

Another gas thread? Everyone on the BB must be feeling gassy today.

Hold on folks, I have a bottle of Beano somewhere around here, I'll pour it over the BB screen!

    LOL Gina,

Question why do gas stations still display the price in 1/10ths, like $4.199? Why not drop the 9/10ths now.

It's a Peugot 207 - not a "stretched limo", by any means, but it easily takes driver and 3 passengers, and for short trips could take 4 passengers (there are seats and seat belts for 5 people).

Size is a relative quality - a sedan car (saloon car, we would say) which might be considered "mid-sized" in America could be thought of as huge here! Here is a site that shows some pictures. (Link given solely for that stated purpose, not for advertising either the car or the supplier). I can tell you that I am quite tall (6 feet 4½ inches), and I don't feel cramped.

    I hope that helps.

Saloon Car....I like that, do they have beer taps?

Im 6 ft 2 & drive allot so I dont want the cramped style & I seriously believe that these electric cars with battery power have not been perfected. I do wish Honda would introduce a diesel because American cars are garbage. Peugots are not even sold in the USA anymore.
