It is about time! http://blog.chron.com/armedsources/...eks-iraq-afghanistan-veterans-for-ptsd-study/ Although these people served our country and have paid a high price, because of the high possibility of them having PTSD or some other condition that can be set off with no warning they should never be allowed to hold a position where they are involved with law enforcement or the public. The risks and consequences are just too high.

I think the risks of letting your kind of scare tactics is what ought to be warned about.

You never did answer my question in one of your other diatribes about PTSD. Is it okay for me to pastor after being in combat? Or are the risks and consequences too high?

Vets from Iraq and Afghanistan combat do face pressure after they return home from a war that has not really been won. But to be constantly looked at like they imght explode at any moment like you are constantly harping on, only adds to the pressure. Ask any Viet Nam combat vet after the overly publicized actions of some.

    You ought to be ashamed.

Freeatlast- I'd like to know what you would say your motivation is for your multiple threads and posts claiming that veterans (ex military, as you put it) ought to be disqualified from law enforcement positions because of a categorical predisposition to act violently without proper discretion.

Arbo - you missed a very important piece of what freeatlast said this time (bolded below); I've quoted it in case he tries to change it.

According to this logic, it's not just law enforcement; it's also teachers, medical, pastors, and even Wal-mart greeters. Anyone involved with the public. Shucks, if you follow that to its ultimate logical conclusion, we should shut them all up away from society.

One wonders why the moderators allow this to continue.

    This is too funny...

In response to repeated calls for proof of his slanderous charge is a citation to a study that has not been conducted yet.

What's his take going to be if the study determines that the incidence of PTSD is no higher among veterans than the general population?

I have wondered that too, because he seems to have crossed into that area reserved for trolls.

No that is not true. There are plenty of manufacturing jobs to go around and many other kinds as well. Because of the risk and the serious possibilities they should not be in direct contact to deal with the public.

So your solution is: all those medically-trained military members should be placed in manufacturing jobs, because medical means they'll have contact with the public.

So you want these guys to work in manufacturing where they have access to heavy machinery, chemicals, and any number of things to cause mayhem?

Define "direct combat." Many medical personnel serve as combat medics; and frankly, do better IVs than any nurse I've had give me an IV. Many medical personnel hunker down with the rest of us when we're getting mortared or rocketed. Many medical personnel have seen more of the horrible results of combat than many who were actually in combat. The medical guys and gals see all the blood and guts, where most of the combat dudes/dudettes see a firefight, and maybe actually see that they shot someone.

Your previous statements were that *all* military should be prohibited from interacting with the public; are you now back-pedaling?

You do realize what your statements amount to, don't you? You're basically saying that combat soldiers/sailors/airmen/Marines are "necessary evils" that you only pull out of your toy chest when you need them, and want to be able to put them back in the toy chest when you decide you're done. If they're not serving the purpose of protecting you, then they should be hidden away.

I would still like to hear from Freeatlast what his motivation for his multiple anti-veteran statements/threads is.

The consistent message from your posts says otherwise.

And why should I care what you believe?

    Oh Really?:laugh::laugh::laugh:

You're speaking out of both sides. Which one is true?

You'll not be surprised when I tell you that, based on your repeated and consistently insulting posts, I don't believe you.

Now, what motivates you to repeatedly point out that you believe like you do?

Go back to post #11, top of page 2. You haven't responded to that.

You're the one who keeps opening threads on the subject, so obviously you care to some extent.
