    Does God love you?

If He does love you, does that make you special?

Does God create people that He doesnt love?

If so, did he predestinate them to not be loved?

Why would God create you, loving you, and create others that He damns from birth without even a chance?

If God chose to damn me then I wish He would have just sent my spirit to Hell.

Does God love me or not?

    John

    yes

Well, certainly not because of me.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"

I reject double predestination. But even those that do believe it, I don't think they would say it's outside of their sin. In other words the person goes to hell because they are a sinner.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"

Then why does the Cal say that only the "chosen" are saved? If there are the "chosen" then there must be the "unchosen" also.

If God loves everyone, then why would He create some to save and some to damn?

Why does He love and save you and not me?

God always had a Covenant people, just look at isreal in OT, and the Church in the NT!

Why were the Jews the chosen people by God? because God chose them period...

God loves all people in the sense that He created all of us, and He extends general grace to all of us, since we have our life and jobs and family and friends etc...

IF God wanted to, only His elect would be born even, so life itself gift of/from God!

So whatever the lord does in regards to His plans and purposes, are both fair and just!

You know, it's getting really tiring seeing these posts against the doctrines of grace over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Why not chase another dog? ;)

But God is a respecter of persons if he chooses some and won't allow others. In order for God to not be a respecter of persons, we would need to change your statement to "He has mercy on whomsoever chooses Him."

God is not a respecter of persons in regards to judging people. This has nothing to do with God electing some and not others. You were not chosen to be an apostle of Jesus. You were not chosen to write any Scripture. To say that God is not a respecter of persons does not mean that God doesn't elect people. And his statement is actually biblical. "Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy" or " He has mercy on whom He desires"

There are some that are chosen(Ephesians 1) and there are some that are not chosen.
I don't believe God created people just to damn them. However, He is sovereign and could if he wanted to. But I don't believe that the Bible teaches that God does this. He doesn't take pleasure in the death of the wicked. Ez 18:23 "Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?"
Well, I hope that you are saved. Everyone that believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved. No one will believe and not be saved.

    Sorry Ann,

You know that I deeply respect you and some other DoG BB members here and love you guys very much.

Last week, some of the Reformed Bretheren hammered us regular Christians pretty hard, some saying we we heretic, and one doubting our salvation. They got me pretty upset.

I apologise and I will stop because it was not my intent to insult the DoG members that are respectful of me.

First of all, that's completely wrong from anyone to do that. (not to mention against the rules) There is no reason to doubt ones salvation because of his view on election.

Second, it may be a good idea to not call yourself a "regular Christian" in contrast to those that are Calvinist or Arminian. It comes across as you calling them weird not non orthodox.

We need to treat each other with respect. No one should say one isn't a Christ because of his view on election. Believing or not believing in election is not how one gets saved. I've yet to find a passage that says, believe in election and you will be saved...

That's like someone complaining because they keep talking about the Weather on the Weather channel.

Why not turn the channel if you are tired of watching the same show of the same folks chasing the same dog?

My point with the 'regular christian' label is that not everyone falls under the Cal or Arm label. There are other choices, not just 2

Ok, i understand. I don't personally take offence to it. I saw that in your sig. I'm just saying to be careful with the wording as it can imply something else.

To answer the OP's question, "Who does God love?"

    ME!!!!

I sure didn't, and don't, deserve His Grace, love, and mercy, but He gave it to me anyways. That is why I love Him. I love Him, because He first loved me, and sent His Son to bore my sins on the cross, that I could have access to Him. How sweet it is to be His!! :godisgood::jesus::godisgood::jesus:

Brother JBH, if'n you think about it, "regular christian" isn't a bad title after all. If someone is "regular" then they are unleaded. If you're unleaded, you can't sink. The "regular/unleaded" christinan won't sink when they die. I know, oh brother....  :D

As stated before, the bible uses the Predestined/Election/Chosen language. We have to figure out what to do with it.

The difference could be thought of like this. God is a Father, he has rebellious children.

-Under Calvinism: All are rebellious to the point that none will turn and accept forgiveness unless caused to by God. So God chooses some and causes them to be born again. NOT ALL ARE SAVED.

-Under Non-cal: All are rebellious, but some, when offered free forgiveness, turn and accept it. NOT ALL ARE SAVED.

Under either belief, God has the power to save all, but does not. For cals, it is because he does not choose to turn everyone from their rebellious ways. For non-cals, it is because he values thier free choice more than he values their salvation.

I guess this is one problem I see with the non-cal position. It has determined that free choice is the highest value in the universe; which goes against the way many parents interact with their own kids. If my son is running away from me toward certain death in a busy road...and refuses to stop when I plead with him to "repent" (turn around). I'm not going to sit back and "respect his free will". I'm going to go get him and forcibly stop him from destroying himself. That is what Cals believe God does for his elect. Why he does not do it for everyone is one of the great mysteries...and admittedly a point of questioning for Cals.
