What type of doctrine change would cause you to depart from you baptist Group?

    Women being ordained?
    Spiritual gifts still operating today?
    Theistic Evolution?
    Open theism?
Bible has mistakes in non spiritual/doctrine areas?
Alternate lifestyles accepted as being valid?

Well at least you are working on your spelling and grammar although your mistakes are far to frequent and far to elementary still.

I would not stay in a church with a women elder.
I sure hope everyone believes spiritual gifts are still operating today. We all have spiritual gifts. I'm assuming you mean the sign gifts that are not operating today.

They are wrong. My church wouldn't allow for it, but not sure personally.

    heresy...of course not
Denying a fundamental of the faith...of course not

If you mean sinful lifestyles then no. I would not go to a church that allowed sin to happen without a call to repentance.

Well, I don't know what "Baptist Group" means. Nothing the SBC (or any of the networks we're part of...mostly those are evangelical affliated) does really impacts us at the local level. If the SBC were to (after a split rapture I guess) decide to affirm any of the above positions we wouldn't care...they can't change our church's beliefs. We would see how it impacts what we do care about with our convention, missions, seminaries, and church planting and determine how to change.

We're a very autonomous church when it comes to the national convention we associate with. I can tell you that while I'm at this church there won't be any changes to our doctrines on these issues.

However, I would also say there are host of other things that aren't nearly as extreme as your OP lays out.

In your post, "to frequent" and "to elementary" should be "too frequent" and "too elementary." These are grammatical errors, and since you dislike bad grammar, I thought you might want to know. :tongue3:

All of the above except for perhaps Open theism<-----
OT, while I strongly disagree....knowing how they arrive at the position they do is not, strictly speaking, heresy just extreme error.

I think there should also be a semicolon between "grammar" and "although" since it is a compound sentence, and I also think there should be a comma after "Well"

Honestly, I have never understood the self appointed "spelling police" that are on every discussion board.

Its a DISCUSSION BOARD not a Spelling Bee!! The idea is to get your point across to the ones you are discussing with. My spelling on boards like this can be atrocious sometimes, and I couldnt care less.

If I am writing a job resume, THEN I care about spelling, but not on a duscussion board.

The only time I MIGHT be a bit bothered here, or some other board, would be if I one of these "r u going 2" typs showed up.

    THAT would bug me. :BangHead:

Everyone on this list is an unscriptural offence that if not purged would lead to a departure:thumbs:

    Women elders? I'd leave
    Gay members? I'd leave
    Chrasmistic? I'd leave

But the worst thing that could happen to any church is for the pastor to start teaching Reformed Theology.

    I leave then even faster!

I agree here with you brother & would add that I will not go to any SBC Church as I do not agree with blended church theology. I did not say that they aren't Christian but I would not subject any of my family or myself to the behavior I see represented far too often on this forum. Just my personal choice.
