Cell phones and the summer

Yep! When I horseback ride, I like to keep a phone on me in case I fall and can't even get to the mounting block where I used to keep it so I used to tuck it in my breeches. Well, one day I realized my phone had gotten wet enough to stop working so I knew I needed another solution. I got a neoprene pocket that I strap to my leg to put the cell phone in and all is great!! It even protects the phone from splash when I wash the horse or spill water buckets.

If a phone gets wet, take the battery out immediately and put it in a baggie with rice for a couple of days. It should work fine after that unless you had it soaking in water or it fell in salt water.

 

I just got an iPhone - my first expensive phone. I paid full price for it since it's on Virgin Mobile and not on a contract plan so I want to keep it "healthy". I got a Lifeproof case for it which is completely waterproof. I can even get a lifejacket for the boat to put it in! But honestly - I LOVE the Lifeproof case. It's protected the phone from a few phones so far and I know that even if I dump it in a water bucket at the barn, it will survive just fine.

 

Good old fashioned sweat. I put it in the waistband of my breeches and it's 85 degrees. I'm riding a 17.1 hand Hanovarian who feels it's his life duty to keep my heartrate within maximum levels for the whole time we're riding. Yep - it got WET!
