Here's another Rant for Webdog. I have been doing a lot more research and I have to say he's just another seeker friendly/Emergent teacher. He seems to be more interested in teaching about relationships from the pulpit instead of preaching God's word. This is my opinion so I can take the heat from the theological liberals in here. I'll stay put in our church where our Pastor preaches expository messages week after week.

Andy is just another Rick Warren type of preacher IMO. Actually he sounded more like Joel Osteen come to think about it. :BangHead:

SS, I usually agree with your posts but you seem to have gone off the deep end on this Andy Stanley vendetta. I have spent a great deal of time studying the emergent movement, which is a different heresy than the seeker sensitive Rick Warren junk. I have yet to find anything major wrong with Andy Stanley, or his father for that matter.

Just poking fun at Webdog. He takes it well. Andy is not his father. I really Like Charles. I have found that Andy is big in the emergent circles though. I listened to several of his sermons and have come away sadened that he is more of a Dr. Phil than a Charles Stanley.

Sorry to offend anyone, especially Webdog. I'll stop..MODERATOR if you want go ahead and block this post.

These threads/posts about Andy seem to reveal more about you than him...

You say you're doing a "lot more research" that makes you conclude that Andy is 'Emergent', but do not directly bring up a context for discussion. And then allude to the idea that whoever disagrees with you is a liberal.

Seems similar to saying, "This is my opinion and it is very big and strong, so trust me. ...and, if you don't share my opinion, then I was correct in thinking that you are a liberal."

I've listened to many of Stanley's messages and I'd say he's quite far from emergent. I've heard the Gospel MANY times in his messages and he's quite sound theologically.
