Looking at unemployment statistics it appears that unemployment really started to tank after the 2008 election and hit the skids after the inauguration in 2009. Could it be that business and financial institutions realized that the electorate has shafted everyone with the election of a Marxist street organizer?

BB members should be pleased because most of the lost jobs are union jobs or jobs held by Mexicans who went home.

Obama has at least been consistent in keeping campaigners employed since 2007.

I frankly hope a lot of illegals went home, I wish all would. If you have any information about lost union jobs you should present it.

As I recall it was the union out in Washington who tried to prevent Boeing from opening a plant in SC to employ 1000 people.

He has campaigned continuously since 2007. It is apparently the only thing he does well, read a TelePrompTer.

Thanks for posting this, Old Reg. I find it fascinating that the numbers held kind of steady in 2007 under a democratic congress under Bush but in looking at the steady climb from about June of 2008 when it looked like Obama was going to win the election against McCain/Palin and rose steady from Obama inauguration in January on....Fascinating stuff. Like Newt says, Election Day when the results are in and obama is defeated, the economy will make a remarkable turnaround when there is hope in sight for a Republican President and hopefully Republican Congress once again. (That is if we have an election, I am still skeptical that Obama will do something to hang onto power.)

I find it strange that nothing has been said about this trend!

Who knows what Obama will try? We have heard talk in the past about the imperial presidency [Mostly under Reagan I believe.] but nothing about the dictatorial presidency Obama has created.

    >As I recall it was the union out in Washington who tried to prevent Boeing from opening a plant in SC to employ 1000 people.

Washington State legislature gave Boeing millions in tax breaks to keep those jobs here. Boeing sent more jobs to Europe than to NC.

Obama inherited this mess, LadyEagle. That's a fact. Now it can be debated whether or not he has made things better (I personally believe that he has not), but he had to work with the disaster he got from his predecessor. It's going to take YEARS to recover from what happened during the Bush years.

Hope you and yours are well - always love reading your thoughts,

Oh, and one more thing: I think Obama will be re-elected. But we really don't have much of a choice, do we?

What caused the housing bubble and its collapse was the influence of the pervert Barney Franks in stopping any control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac!

Agree 100%! I think it will take a generation and WW3 for the people who remain to recover.

I have been gone for several months, and you STILL aren't very good at this, are you, OldRegular??

The Housing bubble started long before Barney Frank [By the way, if you are going to launch a personal attack - be sure to get his name right. It goes a long way with respect to one's credibility.]. This goes back to the former President's push for an "ownership society." Is Frank culpable? Most likely. Is he totally at fault? Nope. Moreover, the housing bubble is only one facet of the economic meltdown.

It also has much to do with FNMA and FHLMC being a quasi-government institution, and the greed of those at the top. Have you ever noticed that GNMA (or "Ginnie Mae"), which is a government agency, doesn't seem to have the same issues? I know that this is usually ignored in the Republican talking points that you are good at giving us.

Wow, OldRegular: I'm embarrassed for you...........

Such statements are unnecessary, rude, and unChristian. Maybe you should take some time before responding to get your emotions under control.

Wasn't that what Franklin Roosevelt did to end the Great Roosevelt Depression.

As I recall one of the top people at Fannie or Freddie was the pervert Barney's consort!

I don't know whether this was addressed to me or not but my emotions are under control.

I am sick of people who claim to be Christians yet allow "political correctness" to control what we believe and say. Barney Frank's is a notorious homosexual pervert. Some years back his consort was running a house of prostitution for perverts, that was Barney's house. It is perverts like these who are determined to destroy the Church in this country.
