If I understand correctly, the Gaithers are COG, Anderson- so yes - could be some hodge podge of theology.

But should we get a good analysis of this study Bible? Should 5 or 6 respected members of BB do so and report to us, or do we just assume it is a "hodge-podge of theology"

Study notes and historical explanations interspersed in a Bible are one thing. But a Bible, first, with someone else's name primarily attached to it (and yes, I feel that way even about any theolgian's name) and someone's personal favorite songs and hymns, and life stories and devotionals etc, is in my very own humble opinion, inappropriate. Why don't they publish a separate book with all these things? That could be really interesting and a big blessing to those who have followed them throughout the years, doctrinal issues aside because I really don't know what that might entail. But God's Word is God's Word and doesn't need to be "personalized". It's His. Ok, I'll be quiet now.

Among contributors to the Gaither Bible are Baptists Kelly Nelon (Trinity Baptist, Jacksonville), Squire Parsons (Trinity Baptist, Asheville), and Mark Lowry (Thomas Road Baptist, Lynchburg, also associated with Tony Campolo).
