I believe that Assurance works with Virgin Mobile to give people on government or state benefits a cell phone. Honestly, I've gotten one from Boost Mobile and I love it. Just about $5 or $10 a month with my useage of texts and calls. If you don't use your phone a lot, it's a good way to go.

If you are eligible for Assurance, it looks like a great deal. My daughters have Virgin Mobile and they've never had a problem with them.

I was going to say, if you are eligible, something is better than nothing.

I know people who live by Boost Mobile.

I think the program is the outworking of a government welfare tax on those of us who pay the roughly 50% tax on our phone bills.

That should be good news to you then since you approve so strongly of both government welfare programs and high taxes.

I can afford the five bucks a month tax on my plan.
