I think that he is telling us something we already know, but is offering a way to see it happen, at least in part. My question is what good is the knowing if it cannot be stopped as I did not see where he offered a solution?

My guess is that he hopes enough people will start screaming at their legislators about this issue they may pass laws against such invasions of privacy. But, IMHO, it will take a lot as politicians listen more to money from corporations and special interest groups than to the average voter .... thanks to the SC's decision that corporations are protected as individuals in their campaign donations.

    Funny.

The latest example we have of the impact of that Supreme Court decision is that it helped a liberal democrat much more than the republican.

    So, whine on.

I was wondering how the O/P would deflect the blame from Obama, since the author of the O/P has yet to admit his statements about team zero dismantiling the Patriot Act were wrong.

How is someone knowing where you go on the internet an invasion of privacy?

    "Internet privacy" is an oxymoron.

    Precisely.

In the video the speaker said if someone were to follow you around after you left your house with a notebook and camera you would be appalled. Yet, there is nothing you can do about it--you are out in public by your own choosing, just as the person with the notebook and camera is out in public watching you. The internet is a virtual public square. When you log onto it, you are "out in public" so to speak, connecting with servers in other states, even other countries. You have essentially (digitally) left your house.

If people don't like it, they can use the privacy browsing feature. Or they can set their browser to delete their cookies and history every time they log off.
