Since the "defending the military" thread has been closed I'm opening this one to continue where we left off.

The US of today has decided to empower muslim extremists that kill Christians and loot churches. What a change from the days you are refering to wouldn't you say? See Libya and Syria for examples.

The US of today has decided that American citizens can be detained without charges or trial with secret evidence or no evidence until the "end of hostilities".

The US of today has decided that whoever it claims to be a threat to national security can be stripped of their American citizenship. And therefore subject to be "renditioned" out of the country to a secret prison, until the "end of hostilities". We don't torture so let's just assume the worst that former American citizens so renditioned can expect is to have the new "enhanced forms" of interrogation used on them, again until the "end of hostilities"

The US government of today has decided it has the power to execute, without charge or trial American citizens it claims are a threat to national security or who is merely suspected I repeat suspected of supporting terrorists. The government of today has of course exempted itself from these laws.

As has been proven by government officials who openly support and take payment from terrorist groups that are still listed as terrorist groups on the government's own list of terrorist groups!

Talk about utter and blatant hypocrisy! Not to mention lawlessness.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg!

We're not talking of some rouge government in a far away land claiming these powers against it's citizens if we were you all would most likely be among the first to want send the troops in to overthrow that government and "save" those poor citizens.

But seeing as how we're talking about the US government and US citizens you all will bend over backwards to defend and or deny all this. What's wrong with this picture?

There has not been an end of hostilities since Pearl and never will be. We have a "1984" + "Brave New World" government. Next to be added will be "Fahrenheit 451."

And are we correct to say that most of these things have occurred under obama? And obama has leaders of terrorist groups welcomed to our White House? Yes. There are links all over the web if one cares to google.

    Here's one that occurred recently:

    http://thehill.com/blogs/global-aff...ites-new-egyptian-president-morsi-to-visit-us

For the uniformed, Morsi is the newly elected leader of Egypt and is part of the Muslim Brotherhood. (a terrorist group)

Oh, and poncho, don't forget obama's "kill list" his administration brags about.

Poncho, I agree with some of what you say. Although much of what you say is not news, your OP would be stronger if you provided references.

My own personal opinion is that we need to get out of Islamic countries and let them kill each other. They are good at that. I have said that Islam is a religion of death, history and current events prove that to be true.

Every time I hear of American troops needlessly getting killed in a Muslim country my beliefs are reinforced, six in Afghanistan this weekend.

Poncho touches the conscience of conservatives, and makes them think about the difference between liberty, freedom and people like Mitch McConnell. On the surface, it seems Democrats have a monopoly on governmental control of our lives, but looking at little deeper, Republicans have their hand on our liberties and tax dollars. I think we must keep this in mind each time we vote, and be sure we are counting to full cost in our decision.

Heh! S/N. I have to do penance every day because I am a part of the Stupid Party. Doesn't help, not as long as I listen to the news.

SC does not have party registration. Small comfort!

We do, in fact, you have to be a Republican to vote in the Republican Primary, same with the Democrats.

As you have seen, I have gone from third party this year to Romney, much as I dislike him.

Look at what the government of today is doing, the powers it's claiming who it's sponsors (global banks and multinational corporations) are. If voting really made a difference it would be illegal.

C'mon. Forget the righite vs leftie stuff.

The 'world's leaders" are in New York this week working a deal to disarm us through an international treaty.

Last week or the week before they were in Rio along with several thousand large corporations forming "public private partnerships". It all sounds cool Oooh "sustainability". Who doesn't want to have a sustainable future right?

But it's international fascism and we're going foot the bill via our tax money. Fascism = corporatism which = government and business merged.

And Obama is claiming practically unlimited power over "we the people" on the globalist's behalf. He's a stooge a puppet same as Romeny only at this stage he's a wannbe stooge but an eager stooge of the global elite he will be if given the opportunity.

    Tweedle D and Tweedle R.

Some choice. I won't vote at all because I am an American citizen not a global citizen and as an American citizen I got no business voting for a globalist democrat or a globalist republican.

I won't vote against my own country. Period. And that's exactly what I'd be doing if I voted for either of the Tweedles we're being offered. No thank you, I'll pass.
