When I was a child I had comic book heroes that I wanted to model my life after. When I was ten my mom married my stepfather, my dad, and he was in the Airforce and had served with the Second of the Seventh Cavalry as a medic for all of their tour in the Pacific Theater, to include two years of occupation in Japan.

Dad also served with the Airforce in Korea but he never spoke of his service, he just went to work every day. Together we built P51s, B17s B52, and F86s. It was not long before I wanted to be just like, he was my real life role model, my hero. From that point forward, my dad was my life role model.

Anybody that knows anything about Israel and Judah knows that te Star of David is extremely important to these people. And with nothing more than a cursory study it becomes clear that King David, a man after God´s own heart, is the Children of Israel´s hero. And to make my point clear, any good study of history illustrates that the progress of the world has always been driven by the people that have stood for the good of the people they were surrounded by, they were heroes.

Today, the United States is on a course that, it appears, the rest of the Mechanized Civilization is also on. I was not born until World War Two was almost over but we seem to have run this course just before that war began. Neville, the leader of Great Britain, thought that by giving Hitler everything he wanted, peace would be maintained and had Churchill not rose to the occasion the world might be under the control of one dictator, right now.

The Americas, collectively and by and large, had such an isolationist view that the United States thought only to increase their wealth by selling War Supplies and Munitions to the combatants. We had, after all, fought the war that ended all wars just a couple of decades earlier and the world no longer needed heroes! We have moved into that same position again and that has made the free world vulnerable and the Muslim world is mving and capitalizing on it as we sleep. Europe has almost, again, fallen and the U.S., by Presidential Declaration, s importing the P.L.O. and Hamas into the States to compliment the already 19 lost cells from pre-Nine-Eleven and the thousands of Muslims that support their Jihad financially by giving at the, ever building system of Mosks.

Will the U.S. fall as Europe s or will we wake up?

It seems inevitable, my opinion is that the nations are aligning for the final battle.

US, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan... Israel
    vs.
Russia, (maybe China) Arabia, Persia, SE Asia... Palestine

    Mainland Europe is a wildcard.

    Or something close to that.

We the sheep have been put down for a nap.

The government is legally couterfeiting our money 24/7 for the use of handouts/bailouts and Obama's personal adenda fund.

We the sheep (myself included) are busy doing our re-fi's, replanning our retirements. reestablishing our financial positions, etc...

Hopefully we can snap out of this and vote these progressives out of office, leave Europe to their own folly to have their own private war.

Remember Laurence Welk and "TURN OFF THE BUBBLE MACHINE!"

Mr. President TURN OFF THE MONEY MACHINE!! Please?

How many times should we bail out Europe and the rest of the world?

How far should we reduce our standard in order to increase the standard of living in the rest of the world?

Is it possible to export good government?

I believe there is no question we will fall as a nation. While overwhelming debt, immoral lifestyles and poor political decisions will be the reason given the real reason is the falling away of the church from the teachings of her Lord.

If our government policies do not change from what is happening right now, we will cease being the world's superpower.

    Stop the overseas policing.
    Stop the heavy taxation.
    Stop the deficit spending.
    Stop the welfare programs.
    Stop the immoral abortions.
Stop the 24/7 lying under oath. Every minute something unconstitutional happens in government, it is breaking an oath given to God.

Go back to the original intent of the Constitution as expressed by Jefferson and Madison.

    My feelings precisely!!!

I am normally a very positive person, EXCEPT concerning this once great US of A and politics; in this area I am an extreme pessimist.

I would love to be proven wrong, but I ain't holding my breath.

Or import good will towards us!

How about advertising tourist deals in Muslim countries and let them find out for themselves.

One thing that irks me about Europe is the economic mess they are in as a union, or whatever they call themselves, because of years of socialist policies. They are on economic collapse, especially Greece, Italy, Spain, and Ireland. If any of you are invested in the stock market in some proportion in your employer's 401 K, you probably have a choice of government treasuries, bonds, S and P 500 index fund, small caps fund, and a international index fund.

Treasuries are like putting your money in your matress, interest rates are so low. Bonds are doing ok. However, if you invest in the last three, everytime bad news comes out of Europe, our stock market drops. It gets so old, but one cannot afford to go to all treasuries. My allocation is now 35% Treasury, 29% Bonds, 17% S & P, 12% Small Caps and 7% International. It is very defensive.

I am not for becoming an isolationist nation, but we should be enhancing trade and investment in nations with strong, healthy economies based on a free market and not government. That might include some of the South American countries, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel.

Besides our own government smothering our economy, socialist countries overseas are doing as good of a job.

Bill, you brought up the subject of heros. The older we get (you are ahead of me, LOL) the harder it is to find one. Since being an adult, I cannot say I have had one. The only President I admired (not a hero), was Ronald Reagan. I can understand King David being a hero of Israel. I challange anyone to name a person in our lifetime that would rise to the status of hero.

Actually he was a childhood hero, went on to be a Senator, ran for President, and went back up into space at the age of 77. Excellent choice.

I can remember as a kid getting up at 4 am to watch Alan Shephard, Gus Grissom, and John Glenn be launched into space. It would be so disappointing when the mission was scrubbed for the day.
