It seems a rather irrational stance.

"Obama, always interested in bipartisanship, has never shied away from supporting plans offered by Republicans if he thinks they're good ideas."

Shouldn't this be in the humor section?

It would be nice to receive a rational answer. Do you believe they would have abandoned these positions if McCain had been elected?

"It's been surprisingly easy of late to chronicle the many instances in which congressional Republicans have announced their opposition to ideas they support. From a deficit commission to PAYGO, cap-and-trade to a financial industry bailout, civilian trials for terrorist suspects to stimulus aid for their districts, it's become routine for Republicans to embrace and reject the same proposals, almost at the same time."

Deficit commission... the Repblicans wanted more than a deficit commission - they wanted spending cuts - Obama wanted a commission that would accomplish nothing in exchange for more spending and borrowing.

PAYGO... the Republicans wanted for spending to be paid for from existing tax streams - Obama simply wanted to spend more and then raise taxes to cover it.

Cap and trade... Republicans never supported this.

    Financial industry bailout - nope.

Civilian trials for terrorists - nope

Stimulus aid - Republicans are not in favor of stimulus aid but once Obama got the money many felt it was their duty to at least get the money back in their districts instead of in the hands of Obama's money laundering donors.

And Obama used to support ending wars, stopping the Patriot Act, and closing Gitmo, even CAMPAIGNING on these issues, only to see the left give him a pass. Now the left wants to paint Romney as a guy you can't trust.

    It is to laugh.

When you present rational posts perhaps you will get a rational response. It is not rational for a Christian to rabidly support a person for president who rabidly advocates the slaughter of the unborn. It is not rational for a Christian to rabidly support a person for president who advocates making the marriage of homosexual perverts acceptable.

Frankly Crabtownboy you constant loading this of this forum with pro obama threads is, in my opinion, not a good witness for Jesus Christ!

You, I .. no one on the board can do anything about abortion in the US as far as the law goes. I have never supported abortion nor will I. Thus, knowing I can do nothing about it I have to look at other issues when selecting a candidate I will vote for.

Frankly OldRegular, I would not do so if others on the board did not load these forums with anti-Obama threads. I just think there should be some equal time given on the other side.

Tell you what OldRegular, you post something positive about Obama and I will post something positive about Romney. That seems fair.

You support abortion every time you vote democrat on the national ticket. In the 20 years following Roe v Wade not a single piece of legislation to reduce abortion was introduced on the House floor. It was not until the Republicans took over the House in 1994 that any legislation was introduced. The ban on Partial Birth Abortions was passed on two occasions by the Republican House and Senate to be vetoed by Clinton, another great witness for Jesus Christ like Obama and his supporters on this Board.

Sadly there are Republicans who support the slaughter of the unborn but it is contrary to Republican Party policy. Slaughtering the unborn is a deeply entrenched policy in the democrat party and its leftist supporters.

If I posted anything positive about Obama it would be a lie. Scripture tells us not to bear false witness. Good advice CTB!

You cannot say that Olympia Snowe's proposals are party-wide Republican ideas. Neither can you say that Susan Collins represents most Republican's viewpoints. Same thing with John McCain. Ditto with Heritage Foundation's ideas (these people were seen in the Rachel Maddow video you linked to.)

The individual mandate was favored by SOME Republicans in the early-mid 90's as an alternative to Bill Clinton's proposal to make all employers provide insurance for their employees. Once HillaryCare was defeated Republicans seemed to cool on the idea of an individual mandate. I believe you have a valid point concerning Republicans flip-flopping on this one, but it's not because Obama endorsed it. It's simply politics.

You have a pretty good point on the creation of the deficit commission. Originally co-sponsored by 6 Republicans, ironically all 6 voted against their own idea, largely because they feared it would recommend raising taxes, not necessarily because Obama endorsed it.

As far as cap-and-trade, trials for terrorists, stimulus bill, these have never been supported by large numbers of Republicans, if any. I know McCain was for cap-and-trade up until 2007, even wrote legislation, but he changed his mind (but not because of Obama's endorsement.)

And let's not forget the mother of all flip-flopping by Democrat John Kerry: "I was for it before I was against it."

That is as illogical as saying if you vote for Romney you support:

    Outsourcing jobs to other countries.

Believe the program Meals On Wheels should be cut and the most infirmed and elderly left to their abilities to care for themselves.

Believe the middle class should have their taxes raised.

Believe that no policy on Israel should be followed until we get Israel's approval.
    Your statement is completely illogical.

You tell me Crabtownboy, which is worse:

    1. Slaughtering unborn children, 50,000,000 plus and increasing by ~4000 each day.

    2. All the above items you cited, some which are untrue.

Which is worse Crabtownboy, supporting the slaughter of the unborn or supporting the items you posted?

Now I can support the 50 million number. I can show that Obama is the abortionist in chief. I can show that the democrat party is the party of abortion. Which of the accusations you made regarding Romney can you prove?

Isn't it just a teeny weeny bit hypocritical to support the abortionist in chief, Obama, and then show the following Scripture at the bottom of your every post?

Frankly I would be deeply ashamed. What does Jesus Christ think about your hypocrisy?

Another example of Republicans opposing a Republican advocated idea:

They do it for votes. They don't care about the issues, as long as they get elected.

Obama once said: “If a mandate was the solution we could try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody buy a house. The reason they don’t have a house is they don’t have the money.”

And then he signs off on the ACA?

It's not hard to see that they just don't care. They're in it for themselves. Republicans and Democrats both flip-flop on issues, simply to get votes. Is this so hard to see?

I thought politicians were puppets on Bilderberger strings. Which is it? Politicians in it for themselves? Or in it for the Bilderbergers?

They're in it for themselves. The Bilderberger group is simply an organization which furthers their individual goals. They agree upon certain things at these meetings, and divide up the loot like pirates.

It's like a bunch of mobsters playing a craps game. Everything is all well and good, and someone might even get shot at the table... But if you interrupt their game, they ALL turn on you. Politicians are no different.
