" The medical examiner's office said that an intrauterine pregnancy also contributed to her death."

How did the pregnancy contribute to her death other than the fact that she had an abortion?

Good question. The statement by the medical examiners office is confusing. The prefix 'intra' means inside, so the pregnancy was inside the uterus ... and that means a normal pregnancy. If the prefix had been extra then the statement would make more sense, i.e. an ectopic pregnancy is an extra-uterine pregnancy and can cause death.

Either we need a better explanation of the statement or I am missing something.

Actually, the term intrauterine doesn't imply a normal pregnancy. The development of the baby takes place in the woman's womb. In this case, the baby was developing in the uterus. Nevertheless, it is horrific that she had to suffer and die at the hands of negligent doctor. It was her choice, however, anyone in the medical field should value their patients; but then again, he killed half of his in the name of the mother's right to her own body. So maybe it isn't all that shocking that he didn't value this woman's life.

I have read and went back on forth on this one because of the wording but I must refer to the first rendering. If it was actually an intrauterine pregnancy there was no justification for this and she contracted her own death as well as her baby's. If it was a tubal pregnancy which the article seems to suggest, although very poorly defined, then she had to have this done and someone most likely botched the procedure. A very bad article in how it was written. Either way two people are dead.
    An intrauterine pregnancy

I apologize for the complete negation on that definition than, FreeatLast. Thanks for the imput.
Psalm 139:13 Thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I'm glad my mother chose life. I read a bumber sticker once that read, "Choose life. Your mother did." As Americans, we are supposed to be different, enjoying the sanctity of life that God has given us and so many other countries trod upon. May we never lose it, or, if we do, fight for it to the end.

I'm with you, Ann. Did someone misquote the ME or did he misspeak? I'd like to know.

You are absolutely right, Scarlett. Shouldn't I know these things? Or maybe I should extend my research to more than one website:p

No apology needed. That is a very badly written article with conflicting terms.
